The church sits atop a high wooded hill. The interior is very nice but much less elaborate than many of the other churches in the Czech Republic. There is the statue of the famous Blessed Virgin and paintings of many religious scenes on the pillars and arches of the church. The main altar is of simple marble. At the back of the church, on a balcon y, is a large ornate organ. This church is more of a church for the people than for the royalty. The priest had a mass for us in English. After the service, some of the group went to talk to him. He had some of the famous wooden and garnet rosaries which he gave to those who had an audience with him. There also were a couple of shops below the church which sold postcards and rosaries. Most of the group bought some to take home. It was very touching to he able to visit this church for me as it was considered to he a holy place for our forefathers as it is now for the people who live there. After our visit, we made our way to the bus. The scenery was very good along the way with lots of views to the lands below the mountain. On our way hack, we went through a lot of little towns and villages. We finally arrived hack at the hotel about 3 p.m. I called my cousin to tell him that we had decided to spend the night at our hotel so we could rest up and he was to pick us up the next morning at 8 a.m. A group of us decided to go to a restaurant away from the hotel for supper. It was rather cold, but everybody had a little "antifreeze" before we went. We went to a cafe about three blocks from the hotel and had a good supper. I already knew better than to order goulash, so I just ordered a steak with potatoes and slaw. They don't have any mustard in the area or salad dressings, so food comes with mayonnaise or catsup which they know well. We had a good time at the hotd and then a young man showed up who knew one of the guitar players in our group. After we ate, we asked the people in charge if we could play and sing in a lobby area and they said that it would be okay.
