It was an at around good day by Joni Lange . State Youth iirector The new SPJST State King John Bun i of Lodge No. 142, Houston and State Queen Valerie Roye of Lodge No. 30, Taiton made their first public appearance this past Labor Day weekend during the Westfest Parade in West. Appearing with John and Valerie were the State Duke Leslie Watkins of Lodge No. 172, Pasadena and the State Duchess Crystal Roye of Lodge No. 30, Taiton.. All of them did a wonderful job of representing our Society and we look forward to working with them and their families over the next year. Our royal couple could not have asked for better weather to greet wellwishers and spectators at the parade and at the Westfest grounds.

Among John's and Valerie's supporters in attendance were District Three Director Sid Pokladnik who spent the morning with the group and escorted the royalty court in their first appearance. We would also like to express our appreciation to Carroll Curry of Curry. Olds in Hillsboro for providing and driving the beautiful convertible, for the parade. In the coming months, John and Valerie will be making various appearances across the state representing the youth of the SPJST. We hope that you will have an opportunity to meet and visit with them sometime during the year. —SPJST-
