Three new scholarships
Scholarship drive off to rousing start The first week of the SPJST 100 Pennies Scholarship Drive got off to a flying start. By the end of the day on October 8, $1,502.05 had been collected. "We are pleased with this wonderful support," says Supreme Lodge President Howard Leshikar. The amount received already translates to three new scholarships to be awarded next year. "Overall, our goal is to raise $8,000. This would be enough to provide 16 additional scholarships," says Brother Leshikar. The first listing of members who have donated to the 1992 Scholarship Drive include: Dorothy and Charlie Lee Tomasek Andrew and Lola Vavra Howard, Mary, Cody and Ryan Leshikar Mrs. L.M. Tarok of the Future? Not really—it's just the way Brother Frank Schlesinger, center, with cap, keeps track of the recent Taylor Tarok Tournament. Brother Schlesinger, tournament chairman, donated the use of his equipment to organize the days activities. A total of 64 players participated in the tournament. Pictured, from left, are John Pavelka, Franklin Krischke, Franklin Schlesinger and Irma Klinkovsky. Back row, from left are Wes Honker, Otto Kurtz and State FAC Frank Klinkovsky. Brother Klinkovsky promises more photos next week. Photo by Paul Schlesinger.
Sales reps and others encouraged to attend fall insurance seminars It's time for some open discussion on the subject of building insurance sales. Our fraternal Society is a growing living thing—constantly needing more and new members to thrive. If you are an SPJST sales representative, interested in becoming a representative—or if you just want to know more about the financial products SPJST offers, you would do well to consider attending one of the fall SPJST sales seminars.
