July was another productive month for the SPJST volunteer sales force. Annunity sales continued to increase due to the 6.25 percent interest rate currently being paid by the Society. The annuity program that the SPJST administers is marketed as a fraternal benefit; therefore, you must have a life
certificate with the Society in order to purchase an annuity. "Annuities are not insured by the government through FSLIC or FDIC insurance, but are reserved out dollar for dollar," says Supreme Lodge Vice President Bernard Gebala. "With SPJST's strong financial posture, it makes sense doing

SPJST cookoff team spreads good will Brother Bob Miracle, president of SPJST Lodge 200, Bruceville-Eddy, and Brother Gene McBride, State Field Manager, know the meaning of tasteful advertising. On the average, the two spend about 10 weekends a year together, spreading good cheer, good barbecue and the good word about SPJST. Since 1988, Brother Miracle and
Brother McBride have been one-third of the winning SPJST-Willow Flat barbecue cooking team. Other team members include Brother_Doug Roming, ag teacher at Bruceville-Eddy High School and Sisters Jane Miracle, Frances McBride and Linda Roming. All are members of Lodge 200. (Continued on page 3)
