Second Annual SPJST Horseshoe Tournament

New Lodge Organized At Cleburne TWO SUPREME LODGE OFFICERS were in attendance at the organizational meeting of a new Lodge No. 195 at Cleburne on April 30, 1992. Lodge No. 17, New Tabor, was the sae for the Second Annual Horseshoe Tournament. There were twenty-four Ilthusiastic players representing four districts. State Fraternal Activities Coordinator (SFAC) Frank Klinkovsky welcomed the players and wished them well. Also recognized was District I Director Andrew Vavra. The procedure and rules of the game' were discussed and the players were anxious to get started. After five games were played by everyone, a delicious noon meal was served by Lodge No. 17, New Tabor. After the meal, six more games were played by everyone and this revealed the first place winners and a tie for second, third, fourth and fifth places, so we continued with the playoffs. After the playoffs the winners were as follows, and these members carried home the trophies: First Place Team -- W.D. (Bill) Holman and W.G. Gainer of Lodge No. 187, Round Rock Second Place Team -- Bobby Honza and Ronnie Honza of Lodge No. 25, Ennis Third Place Team -- Paul Schultz and Wilbert Nelson of Lodge No. 187, Round Rock Fourth Place Team -- No trophies bragging rights only - was won by Gene Landry and Jim Stacy of Lodge No. 187, Round Rock My sincere thanks to all who took the time to play and support this tournament. District I Director Andrew Vavra helped State FAC Frank Klinkovsky with the Horseshoe Tournament. Congratulations to all the players. facilities and the lodge members' interest in getting the grounds prepared. All players enjoyed the day and stated they will be looking forward to next year's tournament. Some members wanted another tournament sooner.
