Eighth Annual SPJST "42" State Tournament

Lodge No. 9, Snook was the site for the 8th annual "42" tournament. There were 48 enthusiastic players from 9 lodges representing many parts of the state. Local Lodge No. 9 President Lyndon Jakubik and State FAC Frank Klinkovsky and Supreme Lodge President Howard Leshikar welcomed the players and wished them all "Good Fellowship." District I Director Andrew Vavra was recognized for being present. After 2 games were played, a delicious noon meal was served by Lodge 9 - Snook. After the meal, 6 more games were played by everyone and the top 4 teams advanced to the playoffs. The top teams revealed that it was necessary to have a playoff because there was a tie for second and third places. After the playoffs, the

winners were as follows and the first 3 places carried home the trophies, namely: 1st Place Team: Kenneth Moore and Thomas Cannon, Lodge No. 186 Caldwell 2nd Place Team: Dorothy Markert and Lillian Ochs. Lodge No. 29 Taylor 3rd Place Team: Glen Paul and Donnie Paul, Lodge No. 17 - New Tabor 4th Place Team: Emma Ceska and Gladys Pustejovsky, Lodge No. 66 Waco My sincere thanks to all who have taken the time to play and support this tournament.
