During that time, his committee assignments, while national in scope, enabled him to achieve many worthwhile programs to improve the quality of life for central Texas. During his announcement President Houston cited Congressman Leath as a man of rare vision and talent who is personally committed to the virtues of initiative, hard work, self-reliance and generosity. He further commented that Congressman Leath exemplifies the leadership qualities advocated by the Boy Scouts of America and is a living example for others to follow. A dinner honoring Congressman Leath will be held at the Frank Mayhorn Center in Temple, Texas on MC -· 1988 State Queen Marcy Tuesday, October 16, starting at 7 p.m. Dorotik of Lodge 30. Congressman Marvin Leath To Be Honored The president of the Heart O' Texas Council, Sam Houston, announced today that Congressman Marvin Leath of the United States House of Repre sentatives, who is well-known and respected in the central Texas area and the nation, had been selected to receive the council's Distinguished Citizens Award.
