Former Supreme Lodge Officer Remembered

Raymond A. Urbanovsky Financial Secretary, Supreme Lodge April 5, 1943 - January 1, 1960 Secretary, Supreme Lodge January 1, 1960 - January 1, 1973

Brother Raymond A. Urbanovsky was born on a farm near West, McLennan County, Texas on November 11, 1901, the son of John and Josephine Sykora Urbanovsky. After completing studies in the West schools, he enrolled in the commercial department of St. Mary's College, La Porte, Texas. During the first year at St. Mary's, he was forced to abandon studies, being stricken with scarlet fever. He enrolled and graduated, with honors, from Toby's Business College, Waco, Texas in 1921. Resolution Of Respect WHEREAS, the Supreme Lodge and the SPJST membership was saddened to learn of the death of Raymond A. Urbanovsky, past secretary of the Supreme Lodge SPJST; and,

WHEREAS, Brother Urbanovsky left surviving him to mourn his departure, his wife, Hattie; his daughter, Dorothy Stiff, two granddaughters and one great grandson, a host of relatives, friends and neighbors, all of whom, with all the members of the Supreme Lodge SPJST, mourn his departure; and, WHEREAS, the members of the Supreme Lodge SPJST desire to record their sorrow at the death on December 27, 1988 of Brother Urbanovsky, who had worked harmoniously and diligently for the good of the Society and served as Supreme Lodge Financial Secretary for the period from July 5, 1943 to December 31, 1960 and served as Supreme Lodge Secretary for the period from January 1, 1961 to December 31, 1972. BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that the Supreme Lodge of the SPJST meeting as a body in session on January 9, 1989 hereby gives its formal expression of sympathy and does hereby note in its records the passing from this life of a loyal member, who was respected by his associates and loved by his family and friends. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be tendered to the family as a humble expression of heartfelt sympathy in their bereavement; one copy be sent to the Vestnik for publication; and one copy be spread on the minutes of the Supreme Lodge SPJST.
