Josefa Zalesky Celebrates 96th Birthday

Kohutek] Thursday, February 20, 1986 Sister Josefa Zalesky was honored with a birthday party at the Colonial Nursing Home in Cameron. Friends, relatives and Lodge 72 officers of Cameron were present. District II Director Willie E. Kohutek presented a Certificate of Recognition to Sister Zalesky on the occasion of her 96th birthday. Sister Zalesky was born February 20, 1890 to Mr. and Mrs. John Hrozek
in Prague, Czechoslovakia. They migrated to Galveston, Texas in 1906 and traveled on to the Cameron area where she has lived since. She married John Zalesky in 1911 and they operated a Dry Goods Store in Cameron for many years. Sister Zalesky had two children, Irene Raska of Cameron, who was present for the celebration,and Arthur Zalesky (deceased), 2 grandchildren, and 5 great - grandchildren. She also

Sister Josefa Zalesky is a lifelong member of Cameron Lodge No. 72. has 2 sisters, Annie Glaser in the Rockdale Nursing Home and Mary Krenek in Cameron and one brother, Frank Hrozek of Rosebud. Sister Zalesky joined the SPJST April 18, 1930 at the age of 40. She was very active in all lodge activities and loved to sing at lodge functions. She organized the first Beseda Dancers at Cameron in 1936. She and her husband were shareholders in the then SPJST National Hall.
I he SPJST Supreme Lodge and the members of SPJST Lodge 72 extend congratulations and best wishes to Sister Zalesky for her long life and her many years of service and wish her well.
