Sister Bobalik Celebrates 96th Birthday Mrs. Frances Bobalik Sister Frances Bobalik was born in Purlip, Czechoslovakia on November 1, 1890, to the late Frank and Anna Rusik . She has one sister and two half brothers, all of whom are still living. Sister Bobalik came to the United States in 1900 with her family. They landed in Galveston, Texas and then moved to Enn i s, Texas after a short stay in Galves o -.. She married Frank of 17 and to this Bobali' .. union were own four children; two sons preceded her in death. Her living children are a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Valek of Ennis, and son, Marion Bobalik of Kaufman. She has several grandchildren and great grandchildren. The late Frank Bobalik, and Sister Frances Bobalik farmed all of their married life in Ennis, Dallas and Kaufman, Texas. After the death of her husband, she moved to Ennis to live with her daughter. Another Czech Promotion Presentation
An SPJST Check for $1,000 and Certificate of Appreciation were presented to Sister Frances Bobalik by Lodge 110 Secretary Willie Janicek [left] and Lodge 110 President Stanley Cech [right] in behalf of SPJST Society on the occasion of her outliving the acturial age of her insurance policy. [The entire SPJST Society extends their congratulations and wish Sister Bobalik many years of good health - - Editor]
A check for $500 is being presented to L to R: Joe Kohlmaier, Director of Continuing Education at Westchester Campus by District V Director Jerry Prochazka. Charles Hejda is the Czech instructor. These funds will be used to support the teaching of the Czech language.
