Sister Stos was born at Ammansville (Fayette County), Texas 21 January 1889 to Roman and Josephina Bartos. She married Frank E. Stos, an immigrant of Czechoslovakia, in 1910 at the age of 21. They made their home on a 100 - acre farm at Ammansville where she has since lived. Their union was blessed with six children.

Her husband passed away in 1971 at the age of 93. Her surviving children include Edward and Richard Stos of San Antonio, Agnes and Henry Stos of Ammansville, and Mrs. Millie Maresh of Houston. She also has 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Angela Stos
