Sister Julia Severa Outlives Her Policy Sister Julia Severa attained the age of 96, May 15, 1983 and is the 74th person in the history in the SPJST to outlive her SPJST life insurance policy. Sister Severa received a check for the face amount of her certificate together with a Certificate of Appreciation. Julia Severa was born in the Steep Hollow Community, in Brazos County, May 15, 1887. Her parents were Joseph and Rosa Holik. Some years later the family moved to a farm ,y. Josep in the Fountain passed away when Julia was a young girl. November 7, 1908, she was married to Fritz Severa, in Bryan, Texas. The couple made their home on a small farm in the Rye Community, in Brazos County. Their union was blessed with four children. Her husband passed away March 14, 1977. Sister Severa presently resides on the same farm with her son, Joe. Her surviving children are Joe Severa of Bryan, Emily Janosek and Victoria Brandt of Corpus Christi, and Albina Yeager of College Station, Texas. All of her children, grandchildren, and great - grandchildren gathered to celebrate the occasion with her. The SPJST Supreme Lodge and the members of SPJST Lodge No. 39, Bryan extend congratulations and best wishes to Sister Severa and wish her well. Bartek Is Valedictorian Kevin Bartek Curry was named valedictorian of the Temple High School 1985 graduating class; he earned a 102.5652 grade average during his four years of high school. Kevin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Curry of Temple and the late James Dennis Bartek. His accomplishments include 1984 Boys State Delegate, 1984 Central Texas Youth Leadership Council Award, and the 1983 Leadership in Free Enterprise Award from the Temple Rotary Club. He was on the school's Brainstorm team in 1984 - 85.
