Brother Nick Morris (left) is presenting the gavel over to the Convention Chairman Sid Pokladnik. and Co-Chairman Jerry Prochazka. Brother Sid had served as convention chairman for four consecutive conventions and Brother Jerry had served for two consecutive conventions.

Your editor reported, some issues back, that these two brothers had been elected to those respective positions. They are both well-known to yours truly for many years as well as by our membership for their devoted service to our SPJST Society. Brother Pokladnik, who is no stranger to countless SPJST members, has been leading a very active role in our Society since his early life; through the efforts of the late Brother Frank B. Steiner, Sr., he was involved in many activities on the lodge level and soon became president of Lodge 84, where he served in that capacity for a number of years. From an early stage in life Brother Hanus has grasped, quite a bit about the SPJST through his parents, the late Louis Sr. and Rosa Hanus of Lodge 88 in Houston. His parents who were very strong supporters of the "Hlahol" Dramatic Club and dedicated workers at the lodge, inspired interest in others and some of it rubbed off on Brother Louis where he helped organize (the first youth club in the SPJST).
