Lodge 88 "Hlahol" Dramatic Club To Present Czech Comedy

Announcement Dear Members of the SPJST: At the XXIIIrd Convention the delegates of District VII elected me to serve as director on the Supreme Lodge. While serving in that position, my desire has always been to represent District VII and the entire SPJST membership honestly and to the best of my ability. The progress and strength of our Society have always been of the utmost importance to me. Now members across the state have approached me asking me to seek the office of president. After much careful thought and consideration, and with the full cooperation and encouragement of my husband and family, I am asking for your support and vote in electing me to the position of president of our Society. My past experiences which have prepared me to fulfill the duties of the office of president include: forty years membership in our Order, a member of the By-Laws Committee through three conventions, and a director on the Supreme Lodge Board for almost four years. While on the Board, I served on the Corporate Planning Committee, which was instrumental in setting up the SPJST College Scholarship Program, the Czech Language Allocation Committee, and as State Coordinator for the SPJST Child Abuse and Neglect Project. For many years I have been active on the local lodge level and prior to being elected to the Supreme Lodge was youth leader of a vigorous youth

Thelma Hrncir club for fifteen years. I have served on the boards of many church, civic, and educational organizations and have been in the teaching profession for thirty-four years. My husband, Eugene, and I have four children: David who is a pediatrician in the Air Force stationed in Turkey; Connie who lives in Los Angeles and works for Northwest Orient Airlines; Brent who is in his third year at the Air Force Academy in Colorado, and Angie, a sixth grader. All the children participated in the youth program and maintain an active interest in the SPJST. Jiri Brcizda was born in Brno, Moravia. He acted in plays in Czechoslovakia. He was motivated to accept a role by other Czechs lamenting that some actions should be taken to continue the Czechoslovak heritage.

Tom Dybala, born in Houston, Texas is a member of SPJST. He has performed with Alvin Community College Theater. He is interested in learning more of the Czech language.

Miluse Kovando born in Praha, Czechoslovakia; will be entertaining the audience for a third time. She is the one who helps everywhere to promote Czech heritage by her acting for Hlahol and her singing in the Lodge Choral Club.
