TO: The Members and Delegates of District III SPJST At the 23rd Convention in 1980 you elected me to serve you as District III director to the Supreme Lodge. During the past four years, I have always tried, in all my work for District III and for the Supreme Lodge, to represent you honestly and fairly and to the very best of my ability. Saleem Assaf is one of about 850 students in the United States to win the annual National Council of Teachers of English Achievement Award in Writing, according to Roselee Sprouse, PTHS English lead teacher. Assaf, 17, is the son of Atiyeh and Patricia Assaf, 1806 Swan. He plans to attend Rice University to study psychology and engineering. SUBJECT: MERGER OF SPJST LODGES NO. 94 AND NO. 129 TO: ELIGIBLE VOTING MEMBERS OF LODGES NO. 94 AND 129 Sunday, February 5, 1984, at 1:30 p.m. officers and members of SPJST Lodges No. 94 and 129 met at the Wheelock SPJST Lodge No. 94 hall and discussed merger of the two lodges. Brother Ben F. Trcalek, District I director, was present to represent the SPJST Supreme Lodge. After due deliberation, it was unanimously agreed that a merger of the two lodges would be mutually beneficial and that plans for a membership vote on the proposition of merger
should proceed without delay. In compliance with the ByLaws of the Slavonic Benevolent Order of the State of Texas, Article No. 74, you are hereby notified that a meeting will be held March 4, 1984, at 1:30 p.m. at the Wheelock SPJST Lodge No. 94 hall for purpose of voting on the merger of the two lodges. Since the results of this meeting will be of great importance to the members of both lodges, you are urged to make every effort to attend.
