ACC Czech instructor, (L), William Souchek looks on as SPJST District V Director Louis Hanus presents ACC President Rodney Allbright with $500 check (center). District I Director Ben Trcalek is shown presenting Flatonia High School with a $300 contribution to their Czech language program. The contribution was made under the special program authorized by the XXIIIrd SPJST Convention for institutions teaching the Czech language. The Czech class enrollment at Flatonia High School is 20 students in grade 7; 20 students in grade 8 and 4 students in the High School class. ACC Promotes Czech Language And Culture Keeping the Czech heritage alive in the community is one of the important things Alvin Community College, with its noncredit Czech program, makes every effort to do. A large group of people from Alvin and the surrounding areas, of Czech descent, enjoy the activities of the ACC Czech Club and the Conversational Czech classes. The group is,

however, not limited to persons of Czech descent, as many others enjoy and love the study of the language and the enrichment the Czech heritage brings to their lives. The Czech classes are instructed by William Souchek, who frequently visits Czechoslovakia and keeps Czech Club members and students (Continued on Page 4)
