Activities at New Tabor Lodge No. 17

Results From Victoria Lodge No. 32 The first meeting of 1983 was a very constructive one, it is just a shame more of the members were not present to participate in it. The regular monthly meeting was held Wednesday, January 5, at Citizens National Bank at 8 p.m. President Mike Ahlstrom called the meeting to order. This was followed by Jason Motal leading the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag and a moment of silence for our departed members. Secretary Adele Donalson read the minutes of the December 1st meeting and they were approved as read. Treasurer Evelyn Horelka
read the treasurer's report which was accepted. It was decided to present Ben Malina with his 50-year pin at one of the lodge socials. Two new members were accepted into the lodge, they were: Chris Mikulenka and Richard F. Bettge. A lengthy discussion was held by the members present on the start of preparations for the July 10th Czech Festival to be held at the Community Center. A report was made by new Financial Secretary Katherine Wokaty on a phone call received from Southern Living (Continued on page 3)
The last meeting of 1982 was held Sunday, December 5, 1982. After the regular business meeting, officers for 1983 were nominated and elected by the members present. The officers to serve for 1983 are as follows: President-Andrew Vavra, VicePresident-Henry Mocek, SecretaryMelvin Skrabanek, Financial Sec.Martha Trcalek, Treasurer-Stanley Mrnustik, Youth Leader-Susan Skrabanek, Bldg. Custodian-Carol Petty, Reporter-Patsy Blaha, and Guide-Shelia Hilderbrand. Board of Trustees are: Wilfred Hilderbrand, Betty Suehs and officers. Resolution Committee: Stanley Mrnustik, Betty Suehs, and Melvin Skrabanek. Auditing Committee: Lola Vavra, Wilfred Hilderbrand and Betty Suehs. Later in the evening, at 6:30 p.m., we had our annual memorial service for the members who had passed away since December 1, 1981. The service was conducted by Rev. Henry Beseda, pastor of the Snook Brethren Church. Members of our Youth Club lit the candles in memory of: John R. Urbanovsky, Delphine Courtney, Walter Navratil, • Henry W. Sefcik, George A. Sefcik, Alice Marie Watson, Warren C. Bain, Marvin Matcek, Frank G. Mrnustik, Henry Matcek,
Lillian Heldmann, Emil M. Hyvl, and Sefcik. Following the memorial service, our Youth Club presented a Christmas program. Our thanks go to Susan Skrabanek, youth leader, for always presenting an entertaining and joyful program. As usual, our children did an outstanding job.
