Merger of Lodges 40 7_111je and 50 El Campo Having previously voted separately in favor of merging, the members of Lodges 40 Hillje and 50 El Campo met in their official merger meeting at the Hillje lodge the evening of Wednesday, November 10th. SL President Nick A. Morris presided through the election of officers, assisted by District VI Director Matt Vanek and an impartial Tellers Committee. After his opening explanatory remarks, Bro. It was one of the most emotionaltouching funerals this editor has ever attended and there have been a great many of them in my lifetime thus far. The 16-year-old young lady was a very beautiful, good, talented and respected individual. She was the SPJST District III reigning queen plus an enthusiast who had achieved several district and state SPJST honors from her active youth club. She was also District III Flag Bearer. Some time ago she told this editor that she was looking forward to the 1983 YADs. Therese was a junior in West (Continued on Page 11)
