SPJST Scholarship Donations Welcomed The SPJST recently established a Scholarship Fund to encourage its members to further their education. A separate account here at the Home Office has been set up for funds to be utilized exclusively for this program.
LAM ( urator Otto Hanus tells about the additional wooden creation donated to the museum by Mrs. Antonie L. Bohuslav of El Campo whose husband, the late Frank J. Bohuslav, carved over 183 pieces.
Local lodges, SPJST members and friends are encouraged to voluntarily contribute to this fund. Examples of donations would be a local lodge making a contribution in lieu of sending flowers to a deceased member or a fraternal donation from a local lodge. District III Youth Counselor Bessie Petr reports on the youth activities for the past summer months.
At Christmas time in lieu of sending a greeting by card, we will have a Christmas Greeting page in the
Vestnik from all those who make a contribution to the Scholarship Fund. These are just a few suggestions so you can assist and help us make the Fund grow so we may expand the program. We will recognize on a quarterly basis, in the Vestnik, all lodges and/ or individuals who have contributed to the fund and for what reason (example: in memory of, etc.) plus Christmas Greeting page during the Yuletide season. If you have any inquiry regarding the above, please let us know and we certainly hope the general membership participates in this endeavor.
