Br. Victorick To Coach South All-Stars

SPJST Library. Donnie Victorick, head basketball coach at Snook High School, has been selected to coach the south allstar basketball team in Houston this summer in conjunction with the Texas High School Coaches Associa tion coaching school. The coaching school runs from July 18 to July 23 with the basketball game to be played at Hofheinz Pavilion on the campus of the University of Houston Thursday, July 22, at 7:30 p.m. Victorick has been the varsity coach at Snook for the past three years and his teams have compiled a record of 115 wins and 10 losses. They have been the state champions for their class all three years and this year's team, set two state records winning the school's fifth consecutive title and the eighth

state title since 1965. His track teams have also won the state championship for the past three years. The south all-star squad is made up of twelve athletes from the various classifications with two from each class except 5A from which four players are selected. Victorick will report to Houston Sunday, July 18, to work with his team for three days prior to the game on Thursday. Other honors as Snook coach include: 1980 - Fab-Knit Coach of the Year, 1980 - Texas Sportswriter Association Track Coach of the Year, 1981 - Brazos Valley Coach of the Year, 1981- Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Coach of the Year Award. Additional honors in church and civic organizations include: past

president of Lions Club, member of Snook Volunteer Fire Department, member of Snook "Brethren Church and former president of Board of Elders, and Sunday school teacher in the youth department. Brother Victorick presently serves as financial secretary of Lodge Snook No. 9, serves as District I president, and is a productive sales representative.
