Golden Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Anton Pokorny celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, May 15, at the American Legion Hall with a dinner and dance. Music was by the Fritz Hodde Band. Celebrating the occasion with their parents were Mr. and Mrs.
Raymond Blaha of Jerrell, Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Gebala of Temple, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Saathoff and Mr. and Mrs. C. J. King of Pflugerville and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Delancey of Hutto, along with grandchildren, relatives and friends.
SPJST (LAM) CURATOR GROWS CANNED TOMATOES?? TRUE — Otto Hanus, curator of the SPJST Museum planted tomato seeds in cans months ago and now is treating all his friends to beautiful red ripe tomatoes this early into the season. Goes to prove "the early bird catches the worm," or in this case -- "the tomato".
Chairman Willie Wehring of Lodge 88 Social Night Committee sent three of his traveling ambassadors: A. J. Stayton, and Louis chairman; A. J. Stayton, and Louis Hanus to Brenham, Texas to perform a fraternal act of appreciation for a past member of this committee. The special act of fraternalism went to our valued Brother, Wilber (Buddy) Henske who was being honored by presenting him with a beautiful and unique Bingo plaque, for his outstanding accomplishment and unselfish services he rendered to Lodge 88 Social Night Committee during his tenure as chairman of this committee, a few years ago while living in Houston, Texas. Buddy, as we know him, is very dedicated to the cause of Fraternalisn in our Society. As a chairman of this renowned committee, for many years, Buddy Henske's pride, care, devotion and willingness to help, caused this committee to be of paramount importance to Lodge 88; it attained may successes by his astute leadership during his terms as chairman. We, as members of the Social Night Committee and the whole SPJST Society, salute Wilber (Buddy) Henske and his lovely wife, Ida Mae, for being so dedicated to the cause of Benevolence, Humanity and Brotherhood in the SPJST Fraternal Society of Texas. Miss Cejka On Dean's Honor Roll At SWTC Miss Cynthia Cejka completed her junior year at Southwestern Texas College at San Marcos for the 1982 season with a grade point 4.0000 making the Dean's honor roll list. Cynthia passed 13 semester hours and 84 accumulative hours, majoring in counseling. This summer she has taken the job of Proctor at the Baptist Academy in San Marcos and will also take some summer courses at SWTC. Cynthia is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cejka of Hallettsville. Her mother, Lois Ruth Cejka is a member of Lodge Hallettsville No. 4.
