Round Rock Lodge 187 Salutes Their Youth Several Round Rock Lodge 187 members recently participated in 4H and FFA activities including the Williamson County Livestock Show and Youth Fair in Georgetown, the Taylor Livestock and Poultry Show, Livestock Judging Teams and the Houston Livestock Show. We are very proud of these young people for their participation.
Whether it be steers, hogs, lambs, broilers, capons, rabbits, arts and crafts or food, many hours of work go into the preparation of their exhibits. We congratulate them on their accomplishments and encourage them to continue with these projects. Pictured with their trophies, banners and ribbons above are:
SPJST Meets Challenge
District II Sales Representatives Honored
The SPJST organization has met and exceeded the KC Challenge. They too are challenging the other organizations to make a contribution. Pictured above is Bob Bayer, President and Youth Leader Polly Bayer, of the SPJST presenting the check for $250.00 to Mary Lou Alvarado, LVN. It is through the efforts of all donors supporting this project that it will become a reality sometime in December or early January. At present, the total is at $12,613.62 which is almost half of the amount needed for purchase. The latest individual donors are: Mr. & Mrs. Paul M. Robles, Sam & Doris .Swierc, Mr. & Mrs. Winston W. Lorenz, Mr. & Mrs. H. W. Filleman, and Dr. & Mrs. Harry Chavez & family. In Memory of Jerry Lane Brumlow by Dr. & Mrs. J. 0. Brumlow. Director Henry Vitek was the host of the Annual Sales Representative Appreciation Social, held at Lodge No. 29, Taylor on Saturday, March 20th. A hospitality hour starting at 6 P.M. was followed by a roast beef and baked ham dinner catered by Rudy Mikeska of Taylor. Approximately one hundred twenty sales representatives and guests were in attendance. Appropriate remarks honoring the producers were made by Vice President Gebala and Director Vitek presented the awards. The top three producers in District II were Chester Shmoldas, Ladis Navratil and Lillie Mikulas. Special awards for the incentive trip program were presented to Chester Shmoldas, Mexico and Albin Machu and Rubie Volek, Las Vegas. Following the awards, Lodge No. 29 invited the sales representatives to stay and enjoy the music provided by the Vrazel Polka Band.
Scholarship Recipient at ETSU Miss Neva rrojacek, student at East Texas State University, Commerce, Texas, was awarded the Blue and Gold Scholarship from the Blue and Gold Society of the Student Personnel and Guidance Department at ETSU. In his letter of notification, Dr. John P. McQuary, Head of the Student Personnel and Guidance Department, stated that this scholarship was awarded to Neva "as the junior majoring in Counseling and Guidance with the second highest overall grade point average" of 3.54. Miss Trojacek was recommended for the scholarship by a Faculty Committee in the Department of Student Personnel and Guidance. Neva is a 1979 graduate of St. John's High School in Ennis, Texas where she received the Ennis Business and Professional Women's Scholarship and received her Associate in General Education degree from Navarro College in May, 1981. While attending Navarro, she received the Carmody Foundation Leadership Scholarship, was an active member of Phi Theta Kappa national honor fraternity, was listed in Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges, and was presented the President's Distinguished Service Award at her graduation ceremonies. Presently, Neva is employed at East Texas State University with the Mach III Program, continuing her work as tutor and handicapped assistant. She also serves as reporter for the Handicapped Student Organization and was recently initiated as a lifetime member of Kappa Delta Pi, an honor
Johnnie J. Gaidusek
SPJST Member Retires After 34 Years of Service At A Waco Firm Brother Johnnie J. Gaidusek, of 5218 Loch Lomond Dr., Waco, retired from the Sherwin-Williams Paint Company recently ending 34 years with the Sherwin-Williams organization. Since joining the firm in 1947 during his quarter-century of service, Brother Gaidusek has held only two positions: 3 years as an inside salesman and 31 years as a dealer-salesman working out of the Waco branch office. Brother Gaidusek is a director of the Farmer's Mutual Insurance Co. (RVOS), past district president of the KJT, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, and now is vice president of SPJST Lodge No. 66 in Elm Mott. He attended West schools and is a World War II veteran, having served in the Navy in the Philippine Islands. Brother Gaidusek and his wife, Margaret (Polly), are members of SPJST Lodge No. 66, and St. Louis Catholic Church. They have four children. He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gaidusek of West. society in Education at ETSU. Neva, majoring in Student Personnel and Guidance and Psychology, will graduate in December, 1982, with a Bachelor of Science degree and will continue her studies at ETSU towards a Master's degree in Student Personnel and Guidance. Neva is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe H. Trojacek of Ennis, Texas and all are members of Lodge No. 25.
