SPECIAL THOUGHTS FOR ALL OF US... Let me be a little kinder, Let me be a little blinder, To the faults of those about me, Let me praise a little more: Let me be when I am weary Just a little bit more cheery-Let me serve a little better Those that I am striving for. Let me be a little braver When temptation bids me waver, Let me strive a little harder To be all that I should be; Let me be a little meeker With the brother who is weaker -Let me think more of my neighbor, And a little less of me. Houston for the Czech play, however, we could not attend; certainly our loss. Maybe next time! ***
Drawing up a will -- You have been urged many times to have a will and with good reason. Having a will drawn is a fairly easy thing to accomplish. A few pointers, however, may be most helpful before you prepare your will, if you do not have one and are contemplating on one. It is not necessary that you list all your possessions, or even know how much you are worth. At any but an advanced age, it
is ordinarily not desirable to make distribution of specific personal property. Barring unusual circumstances, your wife, children, or next of kin (e.g., mother, father, brother, sister, etc,) will be the primary beneficiaries with such contingent beneficiaries as you may designate. Use these simple rules to guide you. Both you and your wife should make wills. Specify that your executor can serve without bond. Sign only one copy of your will. The more witnesses the better and they should be people who later can be reached easily. Keep the original signed copy in a secure place and advise your wife and executor where the will is kept. Review your will periodically and make sure it still reflects your wishes. Be sure to change your will if family conditions change. How to make a Will sometimes poses a problem. Uncertainty as to how to begin often is the cause of procrastination. There are four simple steps to take: First, make a careful inventory of all you own. List all personal items, bank accounts, real estate, securities, bonds, life insurance, etc. Describe everything clearly. Second, remember to list your heirs and any institutions you wish to name in your Will. Write opposite each what property or proportion of the total you wish that beneficiary to receive. Select your executor.
