ABRAHAM LINCOLN On our front page this week we
have two of the United States' great men. It has been often stated that great men sleep, but never die! It is quite true that even to this day we have had a good many dynamic and virile personalities and many have written their names high in the esteem of mankind; one such, for instance, was Senator Hubert H. Humphrey who died recently and left behind memories of his concern and love for humanity and the underprivileged; memories which will live on even though he is gone and as we live with a continual thought of the finality of it all, what life

means, where civilization is going, such men, especially Lincoln, become greater and greater as the years pass. Lincoln's birthday is February 12th, (1809-1865). and Washington's is February 22nd (1732-1799). Yes, great men sleep and yet, they live. They dwell with us for a little while and we have them for so many years of life. GEORGE WASHINGTON and cold and it was also the date of the Czech portion of the Cultural Activities Center Fortnight Festival '78 at Temple. We decided to attend and left in plenty of time for careful driving. Near Temple the rain began to subside and on arrival the parking lot was 'filled to overflowing and cars were still arriving. Inside the auditorium was filled to capacity and standing room only was the result. The program, was nice and gave those in attendance a good idea of the CZech people's love for music and the dance, including humor. The program was coordinated
