FROM THE EDLOR'S DESK There are some members who are

true freetennalists at heart and will always remain so. Even if they eaperience some unpleasant episodes in their lodge work, for instance, and feel disallusioned for a while, they always have the fraternal spirit and love for their fellow human beings and our Society to "bounce back" to use a manner of speaking. In this case we may speak of two members — a man and his wife. This writer had the good fortune to make their acquaintance in the 1950s when they became members of Lodge No. e , Houston. Soon after that their true fraternal spirit began to show itself in

their interest in the lodge work and desire to do the right thing in all cases. The gentleman would not mince words in lodge meetings and was even told that he was too radical by a member, however, he always remained fraternal. He worked at NASA and when Lodge No. 172, Pasadena, was organized he transferred there because it was closer to his home. He was criticized by some of his fellow members for doing so, however, he and his wife pitched right in and worked hard for their new lodge. He loaned the lodge a nice sum of money and both worked to help the lodge along. They have relaetives near West and every year or two they would stop by for a few
