FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK The fall district meetings are upon us. Let us all, as many as possible, attend them and, in doing so, show our district officers that we are interested in the progress of our districts and the SPJST as a whole. Look at the Bulletin Board to find out the date and place of your district's meeting. We cannot expect our younger members to show great interest if we elders do not do so ourselves. . * * The District VII Fall meeting was held in San Antonio Sunday, Sept. 18th at the Highlands Lions Club and hosted by Lodge No. 133, San Antonio. The members of Lodge. No. 133, San Antonio, are to be complimented for their sincere efforts to host a district meeting which is not such an easy affair and effort. The officials, present and past, of Lodge No. 133 and members, plus the officers of District VII all tried very sincerely to have as much attendance as possible; however, they were disappointed at the small attendance present at the meeting. Of course!, it was a pleasant falllike day and- many other things were going on, however, it becomes disappointing to those who plan a meeting and ' participate in it to find so few members even interested enough to be present. Here it may well be added that the ladles of Lode._,NILL3

JUDGE NOT Some people are too quick to judge; And eager to condemn — The faults of others they feel Do not belong to them. They think they are'so righteous in Their attitude toward life, And that they know the only way; To settle every strife, But if the truth were really known Their sins would be the same — And some of them might even have A cause for greater shame. In any case there Is the fact That they are doing wrong, By trying to advise the world How it should get along. People should not be too quick to Judge, or eager to condemn, Because some day, a judgment day Will be catching up with them. others really outdid themselves in the preparation of the noon meal which consisted of turkey and dressing and tasty Czech pastry. For $2.25 you were served a meal which would cost you about $7 in any eating place! And they invited you for seconds! How in the world can you stay on a diet? The meeting was convened promptly on time and all of the District VII officers gave their respective reports. After the noon meal, SL FinaniL zgadarxarry

gave his report for the SL and answered a number of questions from members. Next was a short program by the youth of District VII and the conclusion of the meeting. District VII, like District IV, is rather wide-spread and the distances between the lodges are' extended and pose the district officers a problem in contacting the various lodges in the districts. The members at the me'eting were all very fraternal and friendly and certainly very attentive. After the meeting there was a group of singers who gathered and did some good harmonizing together under the leadership of Brother Dominic Netek, who really loves to have a typical good song fest. Brother Jerry Mikulas had to leave' early because, as he stated. he would be the only officer at the SL the next day, Monday, Sept. 19th. Brother Mikeska was at the NFC, Brother Morris was in West Texas and Brother Hejny was entering the hospital in Temple. We regret he could not stay longer and can understand his concern. We hope all concerned are well and healthy. * * Our office has been receiving many letters recently and here is one that might be' of interest to those who enjoy the "History of
