FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK Sunday, February 20th we attended the chartering ceremonies of Lodge "Montgomery County" No. 181 at Conroe, Texas. The history of the lodge's formation and other articles pertaining to the affair are in this issue including some of the pictures we took there. There just was not enough space for all the pictures of that and some others we have on hand as a backlog will be printed later. Here we would like to explain to all of our members and readers that we do our best to print things in the order they arrive, however, we do give priority to letters from lodges because most of them have certain dates pertaining to meetings, changes, etc., and, of necessity, would be out dated if delayed even one week. Of course we have material from the Supreme Lodge, reports of the district sales representatives, letters from lodges, dis trict youth counselors, youth leaders, youth and expressions of sympathy and periodid reports from our State Youth Director Sister Dorothy Massey and State Field Manager Brother Silas Smith. All of the letters in the Youth Section are dated the day we receive them as requested by the State Youth Director, even if they are delayed. To explain: articles which are in the past can be delayed and we endeavor to keep the affairs coming up in the future printed as soon as received. Most youth letters and
SIX MOST SELECTIVE MISTAKES OF MAN: 1) The delusion that individual advancement is made by crushing others. 2)The tendency to worry about things that cannot be changed or corrected. 3) Insisting a thing is impossible because we ourselves cannot accomplish it. 4) Refusing to set aside trivial preferences. 5) Neglecting development and refinement of mind, and not requiring habits of reading and studying. 6) Attempting to compel other people to believe and live as we do. of course, expressions of sympathy are things already past and we do delay them when space is limited. Then we have a "Features" section, of course, for weddings, anniversaries, special events and accomplishments, etc., which we also publish as space allows. The reason we write this explanation is be. cause we have been receiving letters from members wondering if their articles have arrived. Most of them do, except some are delayed by the mails and others are on file to be printed. Our office DOES NOT have a "dead letter" box or file. Do not blame your lodge's resolution committee if an expression of sympathy is delayed, unless they
just did not send it. * * At the chartering of Lodge No. 181, Conroe, we were surprised by the large attendance locally and from other lodges and districts. We were especially glad to meet and have a very fraternal handshake and a few friendly words with Lodge No. 181 officers Herbert Swonke, Evelyn Besser, Paul Pasemarm, James Day, Jimmy Copeland, Donnie W. Mixon and all the members and also glad to see so many of our long-time acquaintances from the districts represented. Brother Jimmy Copeland did a real fine job as master of ceremonies and his band provided some nice toe-tapping music for the dance following. The Lodge No. 181 group can really be proud of themselves for the wonderful friendly and fraternal welcome they extended and displayed and good luck is wished to them. I remember Conroe from the "Model T" days when my parents used to take us on a Sunday and travel through there without even having to stop; has it grown or has it! We really enjoyed the conversation with fraternal friends like DYO Richard Wahlberg and wife Mary Frances, and Tommy Caraway. You can always enjoy a fraternal ribbing from all of them. And speaking of that, you can also receive that from Brothers Tom-
