The remainder of the above letters will appear in the Dec. 8th issue. Thank you. • • Sunday, November 21st, we attended the chartering of Lodge No. 180, Burleson "The Good Life". It was a beautiful day and just about the proper temperature to be comfortable.
Arriving at the place of chartering ceremonies (St. Ann's Recreation Building) we found the parking lot so full that we had to park off the pavement. There was a wonderful group of fraternalists assembled from the local lodge and lodges in the surrounding area, especially the two lodges in Fort Worth. The help and spirit of all who had a hand in helping the local members was expressed more than once to me by the various local members and officers, especially President Dennis Baralias and Vice President Jerry Janek. They are a good example of what our youth of yesterday are doing for us today. Personally, I have known both of them for many years; Brother Jerry from his youth participation in Lodge No. 6, Cottonwood (and some of his Lodge No. 6 friends were present to give the lodge their moral support) and Brother Dennis, of course, the son of Brother and Sister Joe Barabas and nephew of Brother and Sister John Barabas both of Lodge No. 80, Holland, all of whom I've known for over 20 years. Most of what was expressed and by whom is in this issue and also some pictures are included; the rest will have to come later as space permits.
