FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK Feeling that this information is due our SPJST membership, this is being written for the information of all. Your editor was informed to report to the VA Hospital in Temple on Tuesday, September 16 for tests and examination of a troublesome left leg. This was done and the last 1,ssue of the Vestnik was largely compiled through the efforts of Sister Maxine Sefcik and the print shop personnel; our sincere thanks to them. Sister Sefcik brought the nearly finished "rough" proofs to Temple Thursday night, September 18, and, at the visitors' lounge, we went over the proofs and measured the pictures. Some had to be left out due to the lack of space and we regret that. The doctor advised my staying in the hospital over the weekend of September 20-21. Brother Ed Mazanee, PC chairman, was kept advised of our situation and later our Supreme Lodge. So you see: Where there is a will, there is a way! * * From Friday, September 19th to Wednesday, September 24th we enjoyed pleasant visits from SL Honorary President Edward L. Marek, SL Vice President Joe B. Hejny, Financial Secretary Ben Zabcik, Brother Jerry Mikulas, Jr. Brother and Sister Otto Hanus, RVOS President Jerry and Sister Valchar, etc. We thank them all and appreciate their thoughtfulness, and

How does news spread so fast? * * Just as I write these lines (Sept. 24th), Brother Tim Kostom walked in and informed that the bus load of Lodge No. 88 Birthday Club Sisters (a full bus load) who had visited the SPJST Museum were in front of the hospital on their way home and wanted to wave "Hi." What a joyful surprise! I could not venture outside the hospital in VA pajamas and robe, but they certainly did add a lot of cheer to my day! Thanks to ALL of you! Thursday night, September 25th, we are at the office to finish this editorial, because the doctor said it was permissable to come home this weekend, since all tests proved affirmative and that was very suitable to yours truly. Keep writing and we will keep you advised. Smile, it's easy!

Here we wish to add that we have appreciated all of the well wishes via cards, telephone calls, personal visits, telegrams, or however. It appears that our contact with the doctors and going and coming to the hospital will be on an indefinite basis and we therefore ask that you do not trouble yourselves with sending greetings, cards, etc.; ours is a very minor foot problem, as stated. We appreciate your actions and thank you very much, but we do not want to bother anyone. Fall this year, 1975, arrived about a week before last year. It came in with a cool spell on September 23, 1974. The last week or so we have had rather cool nights. The robin red-breasts have made their appearance in the Central Texas area and they definitely are a sign that winter is on the way and the time of the year for snow and the north wind from the Arctic region north of us. It won't be long before we will be seeing the leaves on the trees turning to different hues of color and then falling to the ground, in fact many of the vacationers passing through West from the North report that fall has arrived in the Northern states, where they traveled. * * We will be writing more about our changes to our SPJST By-Laws in the near future calling attention
