FROM THE EDliOWS DESK This week yours truly sits down to write and there are so many various things to write that the question arises: which one shall we start with? Let's go by date and the ticking of the clock. The first part affects our Vestnik. Saturday, April 19th, beginning st 10 a.m., our SPJST Publication Committee held their first meeting of 1975, and your editor was requested to be present, as usual. At the last PC meeting October 26th, 1914, the PC members had received suggestions for changes in our Vestnik from SL President Morris (page 11, col. 3, January 15, 1975 issue), which would be considered at the next PC meeting. (Neither President Morris nor your editor were present at the October 26th meeting due to the Texas Fraternal Congress at San Antonio). At the April 19th meeting, the PC decided the following changes pursuant to Brother Morris' suggested changes. No. 1—The weekly Czech serial called the "Roman" will be discontinued as soon as the one in progress is over and ended. No. 2—It was accepted as recommended that the "Supreme Lodge" section be moved to page 3 of the Vestnik. No. 3—The heading of the Czech sect ion will be made much smaller

DAME FORTUNE .. . Dame Fortune is a fickle gipsy, And always blind, and often tipsy; Sometimes,: for years and years She'll bless you with the sunniest weather, Bestowing honor, pudding, pence, You can't imagine why or Then in a moment—Presto, Pass! Your joys are withered like the --W. M. Praed to conserve space. This issue is therefore in compliance with the PC decisions, as much ,s pos, sible. From the Publication Committee meeting we turned toward the Texas Czech Professors' and Student's second annual gathering at Lodge No. 29, Taylor. There we joined those in attendance, who were having a wonderful time visiting and having a social hour, meeting new friends and greeting old ones. We took some pictures while we were there. It was there that we learned of some difficulty the Czech courses were having at TAMIL In our letters section we are printing some pertinent ma-

terial pertaining to this and encourage our students and parents to carefully read this and follow through. There has been too much effort, time and money invested at A&M to allow the course to collapse! All of us know that to allow this to happen would mean that it could happen elsewhere! The e next day, Sunday, April 20th, was the day for the District II spring meeting at Lodge No. 177, Academy. It was a good meeting, although somewhat lengthy; hcwever, that was due to the fact that there were quite a number of candidates for each office, which is unusual, but shows that there is interest in the district. We enjoyed the meeting and program and congratulate District II for the good attendance — both from the lodge and membership standpoints. The youth program was certainly entertaining to all present. Somehow, we often fail to realize the many efforts our youth leaders, parents and, indeed, the youth themselves put forth to add a few carefree moments of entertainment to our lives. You ALL are to be congratulated! Lodge No. 177 proved to be a very hospitable host and we enjoyed the day very much, even though I was not "up-to-par" due to a bad cold.
