FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK One again Ht, Vice President Joe B. Hejny has supplied us with information and some photos of the underwriters in the "PaceSetters' Club." The remaining photos were in our files, but there were some pictures that were not available because some sales representatives did not respond to Brother Hejny's request for photos to date. We regret this and have some space blank with "Photo Not Available" in the place where the picture should be. A11 of these hard workers, as Brother Hejny writes, are appreciated by' our MIST Society and congratulations to them all are in order! Keep up the good worthwhile and fraternal work! In our "Features" section we are publishing the news, information, report and photos of the organization of yet another and new SPJST lodge: Lodge Montgomery County No. 181, Conroe, Texas. Our SPJST welcomes this newest of our continually-expanding family of lodges — all Texas based — and wishes best of future success and growth to our newest addition and the officers and membership are all to be congratulated in having foresight, vision and faith in the future, especially in these rather gloomy days of recession and economic slump. Your editor shares their vision in the well-known statement or phrase: "Every cloud

AMBITION Once upon a time I planned to be An artist of celebrity. A song I thought to write one day, And all the world would homage nay. I longed to write a noted book, But what I did was—learn to cook. For life with simple tasks is filled, And I have done, not what I willed, Yet when I see boys' hungry eyes I'm glad I make good apple pies! —Elizabeth Thomas has a silver lining." If we look at the amount of money on deposit and especially in savings, it does look better than in those days of the "Great Depression." True, we have become too accustomed to too many luxuries and conveniences, and find it rather unpleasant and inconvenient to adjust to less of our accustomed-to ways of life.

And, while our mind is on thia subject, let us reiterate that the ONE thing that has not increased in price of cost is life insurance, especially our SPJST fraternal life insurance! This is one of the best investments for old age, security, and retirement of any to be found! Certainly, it does not contam the risk of investments in the fluctuating and unpredictable stock market! One other thing we may do well to remember, especially since this is the month of the birth of President Abraham Lincoln, author of the phrase, "that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth," is that in the recent years we have neglected to keep our eyes on that phrase and have allowed our government to become a government of too much special interest influences. Let us remember that, "Constant -vigilance is the price of liberty!" Maybe by 1976 our great nation will have found its way back to the principles laid down by our founding fathers. Hopefully, that may be so. With resolve by all-of us, it can become a fact! It's wonderful to be lazy — if you know how. It spares your heart, saves your energy, relaxes your
