FROM This week, in our Vestnik, In the "Letters" section, you will find the results of the Publication Committee's deliberations on the Guidelines for the Vestnik with which they have been occupied for a large part of all their meetings in 1973 and 1974 and which they conIcluded in their Ocltober 26, 1974 meeting. All of our members 'are encouraged to read them for their information. This Guideline proposal was brought up by a member of the committee in the Publication Committee meeting in January, 1973. The secretary of the committee sent all members of the SL, members of the PC and editor a letter requesting suggestions for these guidelines. Your editor believes, and expressed this belief to the committee, that the Society's By-Laws are rather definite and specific concerning the editor and the Vestnik and therefore were sufficient. These Guidelines, therefore, are the result of the suggestions of our Supreme Lodge members, either individually or as a group, and the publication Committee members' own deliberations. Your editor will try to get an explanation from the PC, at their next meeting, what Guideline No. 4 really refers to: "The editor

EDIT IF, YOUNG MAN!

If you don't feel just right, If you can't sleep at night If you moan and you sigh, If your throat feels dry, If you dont care to smoke, If your food makes you choke, If your heart doesn't beat, If you're getting cold feet, If your head's in a whirl — Why not marry the girl? —Bagolo must not promote himself in his editorials." As editor, I honestly feel that, as far as I am concerned, I have not done this and that there is no evidence of my having done so. This is not to say that it has not been done in the past or that it may not be tried in the future, but certainly not by yours truly, I assure you. Well, you read them. It seems to appear that Guideline No. 12 sums it all up: The By-Laws are still the main guide for your editor and all of us! * We call your attention to the article about the Czech language courses in Houston high schools, written by Mr. Souchek, and the Czech summer course , at Charles University in Prague, Czechoslov-

akia this summer. They are in the "Features" section. Last week we had some "teasers" to call your attention to the fourthcoming "Items of Interest" article about Praha, Texas This week we are printing the article in its entirety with an introduction by Brother Nick A. Morris. We hope you enjoy the article and others. • • The following story brings to mind a case of planting traps for others and then stepping into them ourselves or taping conversations or telephone calls which in turn involve us to our own detriment, regret and sorrow: Once upon a time there was a house-builder who was so badly in debt that he and his family were in danger of being turned out into the street in the' midst of winter. The men to whom he owed money were becoming more threatening every day, and the poor housebuilder was almost frantic. But a kind-hearted man who lived in the town heard of the builder's sad plight and game him a contract to build a house. He told the man precisely how he wanted the house built and the kind of material — the very best — that was to be used, and then went away for a long stay. The house was to be built while he was away.
