FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK Sunday, November 3 -- Before the District VII fall meeting convened at the KC Hall in San Antonio before a sizable and appreciative audience, the Czech Choral Group of San Antonio rendered several beautiful Czech songs during the noon meal. The group is under the direction of Mr. Johnnie Havelka and Mrs. Johnnie Havelka is, their accompanist. District President Bob Bayer conducted a very interesting and to-the-point meeting. After recognition of SL officers, editor and other visitors, the business part of the meeting got underway with several items of interest mentioned to the district membership. One of the items that seemed favorable was: having one district meeting every year. This will be considered more at their spring meeting in 1975 held in Corpus Christi, with the final date announced in the future. Representing the Supreme Lodge were President Nick Morris, Secretary-Treasurer Leonard Mikeska, Honorary President Edward Merck, Sister Wilma Marek, District VII Director Frank Ve,selka and Sister Carrie Veselka. Present also were Editor Sefcik and his wife, Maxine. After each officer and the editor spoke, Brother Marek spoke in Czech to the old-timers who were in attendance and who enjoy hear-

Among the old-timers were Brotht'T Louis Diessler, Sister Mary Maly, Sister Marie Blanar, Brother and Sister Ed Holy, Brother and Sister Jaroslav Kleprlik and, of course, the younger generation (Brother and Sister Frank Valka), all of Lodge 133, San Antonio, who were so instrumental in the success of the 18th SPJST Convention held in 1960 at San Antonio. A dedicated couple, Brother and Sister Adolph Miculka, also members of

Lodge 133, were in attendance and they proudly announced their 66 years o(f togetherness. When a couple at the ages of 88 and 90 attend a district meeting, one cannot help but praise them and wish them many, many more happy years of happiness. This fine couple also are proud to be members of a five-generation (living) family. A clear black and white picture of this five-generation faimily is not available for publication so we are publishing a lightly colored one hoping that it will be clear enough. In her oral report, DYC Maxine Pavliska announced that State Youth Director Dorothy Massey was elected to the position of president in the Texas Fraternal Congress (TFC) Youth Section. The next TFC' will be held in Austin. At this time, we congratulate Sister Massey for her honor. District VII Director Frank Veselka presented his brief report pertaining to the duties of his respective district and Supreme Lodge. Brother Veselka is serving in the office of the late District VII Director Brother Pete Valchar. District VII SR Tillie Valchax asked the present sales representak tives and those who were unable to attend the district meeting, to help in meeting the 1974 quota assigned
