FROM Lodge Moravkli Bratil No. 6, Cot tonwood in the West area in Mc Lerman County held its Christmas party, Sunday, Dec. 16th. Lodge Cot tonwood is among the 25 charter lodges in existence when our SPJ ST Society was formed in 1897 has, by every available means, made their lodge more meaningful and more valuable to the membership, informed them more fully of the various activities in which they are able to participate as members of the Society, has endeavored to create in them a greater interest in many activities and secure larger participation of its membership in other functions and also to keep the lodge and all of its activities constantly before the general public through our Vestnik publication, local newspapers and radio. This lodge is located in the rural area and. has been remodeled for larger accommodations with all the necessary conveniences. To these members, the lodge is referred to by them as a "second home." There are members who meet weekly just for entertainment; there are some members who enjoy bringing their children for them to take advantage of the youth activities that the Society has to offer; there are some members who strive for new acquaintances to increase member-

All in all, Lodge No. 6 does have consistent activities year round for young and adult members to enjoy. At this lodge, every Friday and Saturday nights, the youth leader, assistants and youth club members, are seen working on some type of worthy project to keep the young
people interested and gain knowledge of better leadership within their respective lodge. By the same virtue, the young people have an opportunity to earn points toward the annual point system. contest on the state level with awards made every year at the State YAD. Perhaps some of you wonder, why does this lodge have so many winners on the state level? Well, go by their lodge and see for yourself how tilt Youth leaders in charge keep the youngsters occupied with various interesting activities. The youth club members entertain at the local West Rest Haven home in West, donate annually toward numerous 'charity projects, especially needy homeless children, and help during sickness and death among their lodge members; this is why Lodge No. 6; Cottonwood maintains to stay in the limelight on the state level. For instance, the high award of "Youth Leader of the Year" distinction was awarded to Sister Willie Mae Schuetz in three consecutive years, and her youth club won the honor of "Youth Club of the Year" for 1971 and 1972, with the assistance of Sister Rose Uptmor. These folks indeed deserve much praise from all of us in the SPJST. As we have mentioned previously
