FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK TIME IS NEARING Time is near when the districts of our SPJST Society will be holding their spring meeting. Many of us are aware of the fact that there is election of district officers; pertinent information reported by each district officer, and in some cases a youth program is presented by the host lodge. It Is always interesting to hear the results of our organization's operational aspects, the youth activities, rest homes for our senior citizens, etc. It is also wise to get acquainted with your state, district and local officials and really know who these folks are, and what position they hold in the organization. Perhaps the sales representatives in each district could invite their signedup. members to the meeting and each disttict would have a large attendance. And now, a great responsibility rests upon the shoulders of all who stimulate interest within their hearts -- to sell —to insure that our membership will unstintedly and unswervingly support oui youth activities. We have district youth counselors, youth leaders itnd assistant youth leaders who are devoting their time and untiring effort to keep enthusiasm among our youth, and it is up to us adults to give them our fullest support when called upon. We are indeed anxious to see them commence their attempts and take the first initiative step in their endeavors. We wish them good luck! And last, but not least, some of the districts have not reported their date and place of their district meeting for publication. Time is passing rapidly, and it would be advisable to publish
this information as soon as possible. We hope the dates will not conflict with other districts because most of the Supreme Lodge officers and editor (who were elected by the delegates) feel it is their obligation to attend and communicate with the membership of each district, unless previous commitment, sickness, or death in the family prevents them from attending. • • Bow little we realize the power that lies in a joyous attitude. Joy makes all the difference in the world in our work. If we could only learn to be constantly joyous, we could multiply our effectiveness many times over and even add years to our lives. A man feels like a giant when his mind is poised and his mental processes running smoothly. And when a man feels like a giant, he can accomplish gigantic good in his life and affairs. • Nothing in Man's world is perfect and all is subject to attack: the roses in your garden, the tree in your yard. Wonderful machines are built, laborsaving devices, cars to devour miles, airplanes to ignore them. All these, too, are subject to failure. So are we. Every day of every year we face attack from illness or grief, from despair or the pain we feel for another. But only by meeting the Challenge of attack do
