FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK We have written in past issues about the evening and social of January 111. We also feel obligated to write a few lines about the portion of the meeting we attended on the afternoon of the same day. Naturally, in the two or three hours of our presence in the meeting, there transpires only a portion of the SL meeting agenda; however, from what your editor saw and observed, it seems that we will have a very efficient composition of our Supreme Lodge. The three new directors seemed very definitely to appear intent on being effective in their offices to which they were elected. Here it is proper to say that they (the directors) are actually the members most responsible for our Society functioning smoothly and in a fraternal way. They are the elected members who are in touch with the membership in our districts. The Supreme Lodge officers and the editor are elected to do certain duties for our Society and cannot be expected to be among the membership as much and often as the seven directors are capable of doing. Their duties are very important to our Society in many respects. Their duty, in the main, is to see that our SPJST operates in the way our constitution and by-laws prescribe. • • Saturday, January 20, the new Publication Committee held their first

You will finds the names, titles, and addresses of all seven PC members at the top of column 2 on page 2 of the Vestnik where they will appear every week. Your editor looks forward to working in harmony with
the entire committee. Particulars will appear in their minutes in the near future. When one of our SPJST Sales Representatives knocks on your door on your invitation to visit, and asks to be let in to tell you of the many plans which he has in his portfolio for your protection, it is opportunity knocking.... an opportunity that you should grasp and make welcome. You should listen to his story in regard to security and how it can be yours for you and your family with but little effort and reasoning on your part. A wise person prepares in advance, without delayed action, and acquires a sense of peace and security for himself and his family, knowing that protection, peace of mind, and comfort come to one from a duty well done.
