OCTOBER 18, 1972

FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK Dist. III Minutes After Youth Section • • The fall District VI meeting will be held at Sweet Home Sunday, October 22. Attend your district meetings. September 22 — DO Alvin Nesuda of District III held an interesting and educational insurance seminar which was held for the southern portion of District III, with Lodge No. 6, Cottonwood hosting There were several organizers from 8 lodges present. DO Lad Zatopek of District II was a guest and spoke briefly. This was our third opportunit y to attend an insurance seminar in this district. According to our Observations, Brother Nesuda keeps a constant interest in his active and inactive organizers with patience and devotion to discuss and rehash insurance terms whenever it becomes too complicated for someone to comprehend. A district organizer feels that every sincere salesman. concerned with the interests of his prospects finds joy in every sale he makes; each means a step toward success. There is usually a good feeling in becoming a top producer in the SPJST — to know one is a worthwhile member of the group. Then a salesman feels he is establishing himself well in his chosen work. The major efforts of insurance seminars since their beginning have been to help men

DEDICATION .. . The man who forms a purpose which he knows to be right and then moves forward to accomplish it without inquiring where it will land him as an individual, and without inquiring what the immediate consequences to himself will be, is a man among men. —Sunshine Messenger and women build greater incomes through broader knowledge and better service. Regardless of what age you may be and of how many months or years you have been an organizer, no one knows everything about the life insurance business. New types of insurance are being formulated and researched and then it takes a person who breaks down the insurance technology in the simple terms. Therefore, it is important to attend insurance seminars so your knowledge can be increased and become more active in the field. • • The first district meeting of the fall season was held on October 1st in District II at Lodge No. 29, Taylor. It was a brief and interesting meeting with District President Howard Lesikar preciding. Recognition was given to SL President Nick Morris and family, Attorney Rueben Lesikar, your editor and wife. District 1I Director Henry Vitek

'was attending the NM in Dallas. Brother Morris spoke on the convention issues and the progress of our insurance industry. DO Lad Zatopek gave praise and thanked his co-workers, for their efforts during the contest and he gave recognition to his organizers, including Sister Alice Banning (47), who won an expense-paid trip to TFC. A youth program followed with DYD Frank Klinkovsky acting as coordinator. There were six youth clubs participating with several skits and instrumental numbers. The youth leaders and DYD surprised many of us in the audience with a comical style show to an appreciative audience. A delicious free supper and refreshments followed with many members and guests enjoying the warm hospitality. The editor wishes to extend his thankfulness for the courtesy extended to him and his wife. • • Seventy-second Annual TFC Convention will be held in the Gunter Hotel, San Antonio, October 19, 26, and 21. A TFC Youth Buffet will be at the San Antonio Sons of Hermann home, 525 S. St. Mary's Street, at 6 pm. Saturday, October 21, SPJST Youth will be well {represented. • • A special tribute to our top SPJST organizers: During the past 16 years,
