• Tile usual hospitality of the Houston convention, made remarkably warm by its spirit of genuineness and spontaneousness, will be remembered always by the delegates and guests who attended the convention in the Metropolitan City.

Hospitality of a city is something that cannot be generated by the hardworking wheels of a Chamber of Commerce or Board of Trade, no matter how fast they turn or how big and expensive a• tourist program they may represent.

The hospitality appreciated by a. man or woman in a strange city is the kind that comes from the hearts of the people he meets ... on the streets, in a hotel lobby, at the luncheon counter, or other places he turns.

Our people found that kind of warmth in the welcome they enjoyed in Houston. Whatever the reason, the city's red carpet was rolled out to welcome the delegates to the XXIst convention in our SPJST's history and will never be forgotten.

As in the past, the 21st convention brought together either by personal attendance or through messages of good will and communications . . . the best minds of fraternalism to aid and advise the deliberations of the delegates who met to speak their minds freely and rededicated themselves to the ideals which guided our fraternal 'forerunners.

The 21st convention is one of many.

We say that, not with reflection on the conventions of the past, but in the sense that all conventions are better and the most recent should have been the best. EXperience gained in the past arc put to task and these, in unity with the combined efforts of the host lodges, make themselves evident.

Its vowed purpose to make this past convention a success was recognized from the outset. To make it a success entailed hard work and initiative on the part of all the local committees, and active help and cooperation brought about the solution. We received publicity with lengthy articles, public opinion was favorable through comments heard from people of other national groups that came with the momentous days of our SPJST Diamond Jubilee and 21st convention and this

Wednesday, August 2, 1972 cannot be valued in dollars and cents.

We are looking forward to the 22nd convention in Waco, in 1976.

• Friday, August 4th • A special attraction will be in store for you at the Czech Aqua Fest in Austin, when the famous adult Seaton Star Beseda Dancers of Lodge No. 47, will be among the featured special attractions. They will perform the Czech national dance with precision •of varied rhythm. This same group captured a huge trophy for their outstanding performance at the New Braunfels Festival, recently.

Svadlenak Reunion The Svadlenak Reunion will be held on Saturday, August 23, 1972, at 10 a.m. in the American Legion Hall in Taylor.

Mrs. Leroy Dana, of Temple, was Bell County's talent winner and competed in Our Little Miss pageant at Baylor University on June 10-25. Kim is a fourth grader at Cater Elementary School in Temple. Her parents are members at Lodge 47, Seaton, as is her grandfather, Brother Joe Dana.

LODGE NO. 88•, HOUSTON Dear Brothers and Sisters, Did you ever have things pile up on you all at one time? House is in a ness, no decent .od in the kitchen, and

here comes unexpected company, whom you are glad to see and yet, horrified as to how to make than comfortable, and proudly show your hospitality.

That is about the way I have been caught t rying to write this letter. Time is running out and the news is so scattered that I can't get it together.

Those of you who have been on vacation or are going, please get the news to me. Whenever you walk by me in a big crowd, and say we were here or we are going there, that is sort of like two words from a recipe, and then When I start to write, I really don't remember who went where and when.

Coming events at 88 — On Saturday,

4 August 5th, there is a dance to the Hi-Toppers of New Braunfels. Saturday, August 12th, Lee Roy Matocha and his snow-ballers will be here for a lively dance. Sunday, August 13th, Lodge 88 is having the annual Las Vegas Day. This should be fun for all. First, the big barbncue dinner with all the trimmings and goodies, I am sure that our good sisters will again bring seine of those goodies. Yes, we will have all sorts of games, rides and swimming. From 2 to 9 p.m. there will be a wild, battle dance between the Vrazels and Jimmie Brosch bands.

Then on Saturday, August lath, seine of you ladies may put; on your special pretties because Gil Kautz will be back here for a semi-formal dance.

Some of our other activities at the lodge are Wednesday, August 2, Birthday Club sisters have their card party with games, luncheon, and prizes.

These parties are a kit of fun and good pastime. For information about joining call Sue High at 861e0697: Helmeamp 861-6419, Mary 'fillet' 694-4121 or Birdie Hilsher Every Thursday, the social Mehl. i3 a big attraction; home cooked supper Starts at 5:30 p.m. and games start promptly at 8 p.m. On Wednesday, August 9th, the Birthday Club sisters are holding their meeting, and again have their luncheon, games and prizes; and more fun.

Monday, August 14th, at 7:30 p.m., Lodge 88 is holding their monthly mileting. These meetings are short and enjoyable with good refreshments served afterward. A nice way to say hello to your sisters and brothers.

In September we will have a special, a 3-act comedy play. This play being in English should be enjoyed by many. If you have figured out who is Daisy Darling or 'Queenie, well then Who is Lucy Bell or Dr. Apple? Yes, and there will be more.

The District V YAD at 88 was a Very nicely arranged and presented affair. The displays of art, craft, talent and character were inspiring. But the Support of our good membership was rather disappointing. I think a new approach is needed to get more attendance at these youth functions.

The annual Hawaiian dance was a ssjlout and enjoyed by all. Everyone looked very Hawaiian, making it a colorful event. The floor show and contests added to the wonderful evening of fun. Many of the Hawaiians celebrated special occasions, but then we celebrate it too, so I did not get full details. Eesides, I probably could not have spelled all the Hawaiian names Anyway. Accnrding to reports, we still have some memhars on the sick list, however, I hope that they are all improving. The latest incident was B •ataer Albert Bristik being M a car accident. He sustained some injuries but is supposed to be doing fine.

LODGE NO. all, HOI71TON Dear Members: I have waited to write this letter about the convention to give our brother editor time to catch up with the many letters he had.

First of all, I want to thank all toe delegates and guests who were so gracious and a pleasure to entertain; you surely helped to make the convention a success. We, on the Convention Steering Committee, feol that the time we spent working toward the convention was time well spent, and. your enjoyment at the convention was all we ;hoped for. The following members on the committee held meetings for three years, planned and worked all functions for the Convention Fund, and planned and arranged the program and social activities of the convention: Harley Cox, Ellen Gill, Ernest Hanka, chmn.; Alfred Hilsher, vice-chmn.; Tillie Helnicamp, George Janik, Tim Kostom, Henry Linhart, Alvin Melnar, and Sidon. Tumis. Eric Stein joined our committee when he became president of Lodge No. 112. Louise Entinick and Rose Tumis planned the youth program and were capably helped by Earline Janik,. Marcell Mala.k and Geraldine Mikolajewski, Ellen Gill, Emil Horelica, and printers Gladys and Milton Elolf did a beautiful job With the

There is one committee that was completely overlooked at the convention, and that is the Decorating Committee. This committee had charge of all decorations for the dinner-dance at Lodge 88 and for the banquet at the Rice Hotel; they also provided the flowers for the Memorial Service and for the convention sessions. The following members were on this committee: Birdie Wisher, chmn.; Lillian Finn, Mary Kalousek, Louise Knapick, Rosalee Kostom, Mickey Rice, Ann Urbanovsky, and Jeannette and Jerome Walkoviak. We thank each of you for a job well done; your decorations and flower arrangements were beautiful.

The convention had a very capable chairman is Sid Pokladnik, who had a good helper in Vice Chmn. Ernest Hanka. The convention secretaries were Melvin Skrabanek, Mildred Holeman, Dorothy Tomasek, and Tillie Ilelmcamp. We have worked diligently toward an accurate set of minutes.

"Red Coat" Tom Caraway did a fantastic job! Anyone needing information, help or a key for a •certain room had only to ask Tommy. He took care of all the buses, messages, and equipment; I think that he did the work of at least three people and without an error, too! Tommy, we thank you.

I am deeply grateful that once again we have elected a most capable leader and a truly great fraternalist for our president, Brother Nick A. Morris. I am sure that our organization will continue to •grow and prosper under his splendid ;leadership. Congratulations and best wishes go to Brother Morris and his family and also to all the Supreme Lodge officers, brother editor, and members elected to the, special committees. a St. Joseph Hospital but are at home now. Sister Bartek had an eye operation and is doing fine now. Also Brother Henry Kaska Who was in a Dallas hospital and is at home and getting along fine.

Brother Frank J. Prochaska was taken to St. Joseph Hospital on July 13 and he is still there in serious condition. We wish all of them a speedy and complete recovery.

After the meeting, a delicious supper of barbecued chicken was served, With all the trimmings and Brother Joe and Sister Bena Bartek celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary and donated a. keg of beer, which we all enjoyed. Thank you Brother and Sister Bartek and we wish for you two, many more happy years together.

Our lodge has a fine youth club going on, but they would welcome more members. They have lots of worthwhile activities going on that are free. The more the youth participate, the more chance they have of winning prizes, competitions, etc., at the local, district and state levels. Bring your children to the meetings; they always meet at the same time that the lodge meets.

There will be a big dance on August 26; that is a Friday night, with music

by Ernie Kucera. Come out and have a good time with the whole family, dancing and listening to the fine Kucera music.

Congratulations to Brother Tony and Kathleen Alholm, who were married on June 24th in De Kalb, Ill. Tony is the son of Brothar Roy and Sister Lydia Alholm and the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gallager of De Kalb. We wish them a long and happy life together. ' Also congratulations to Brother Samuel Charles George and Marion Jean Dickey, who were married Friday, July 14. Sammie is the son of Brother Sammie and Sister Anna Mae George and Marion is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank M. Dickey.

Mrs. Spindor read the minutes of our last meeting, in May, since we did not have a meeting in June. They were approved as read. Thank-you card was read from Mrs. Lillie Matusevich. We were glad to see her at the meeting.

Our treasurer, Mrs. Dona Hubenak, gave her report, which also was approved as read.

Birthdays in June were: Helen Kubala, Rose Strnad, Bessie Prochaska, Christine Zich, 'Tillie Gillis, Mildred Kutej, and Bernardette Tesar. In July, Mrs. Anna" Korteff, only. We sang "Happy Birthday" to all of them and wish them many more to come.

Door prize was won by Mary Ann Krivanek and Rose Strnad.

After the meeting we all enjoyed the delicious lunch; after lunch we played bingo.

We missed Mrs. Millie Bartek, who Is recuperating at home after her eye operation. We wish her a speedy recovery.

Fraternally, Aloisie Becan --SPJST-SPJST SOFTBALL TEAM LODGE NO. 84, DALLAS Dear Brothers and Sisters: Thursday night, July 20th, we played our final makeup league game and we won by a score of 2 to 0 over the John E'. Mitchell team. Lionel Schulz hurled a fine game ailowing 5 hits, 2 walks and struck out 11 batters.

Leading hitters were Albin (Hine) Vrana with 2 singles and a walk, Connie Brennan, Bill Skra,banek, Lawrence Honza and Lionel Schulz with singles, and Jack Scott with a sacrifice.

We did have a nice turnout of loyal members and friends at the, game. It was really appreciated. We won the first half championship in our Monday night league, therefore, we shared the championship with Armored Car, and we will get a trophy for this league.

In our Thursday night league, we tied for the first half and also tied for the second half championship; therefore, we were declared as co-champions of the league and we will receive a trophy for this league. We can say it has been a. most successful season and with this we will commence play in the Dallas Championship Playoffs starting immediately.

Wednesday, August 2, 1972 Monday night, July 24 we; opened play in the Playoffs and I am sorry to say we lost the first game to Texas Bank, 5 to 4. Rather, I should say, we gave the game away as 4 of their runs were .unearned the results of errors and poor play. Really, we didn't cle• serve to win the way the team played.

Jim Scoggins actually hurled a fine game allowing 5 hits, 5 walks and had 10 strikeouts, but; received loose support afield. We were ahead 4 to 3 in the bottom of the 71.11 inning with 2 away, 2 strikes on the batter and poof . . . a weak single, an error and the ole' ball game. To the loyal supporters present: our apologies for playing such as sloppy game. Loading hitters were Lawrence Honza with a double and a single, Ron Nelson (we drafted him for the playoffs from the John E. Mitchell team) with 2 singles, Harry Wilkerson with a double and Jack Scott with a oingle.

Wednesday night, July 26, we played our second game in the Pallas City Championship Playoffs and we remained in contention because we won over the Village Country Club team by a score of 3 to 0. Lionel Schulz hurled a near perfect game because lie pitched a no-hitter and only one guy reached first base on an error. He pitched an outstanding game and w!e are all proud of his efforts. He allowed no hits, no walks and struckout 8 batters. Leading hitters were Wiley Beesley with 2 singles, Lawrence Hama With a double and a wa.,1k, Ron Nelson with a single and Pete Thomas with a walk. We had a nice turnout Of members and friends at the game and their cheers helped tremendously.

By winning this game, we continue to play and our next game was scheduled for Thursday night, July 27. The results of this game and any others, should we win; will be in my next report.

LODGE NO .. 74, LOVELADY Dear Members and Friends: We are supposed to have a picnic the first Sunday in August. The games will start at 4 p.m. Brother Fred Michka is supposed to be in charge of the games, but at this writing, I am not sure whether he will be able to be in charge because he is sick and in the Trinity Hospital. For a week he had been running fever, chills and aches. Friends wishing to visit or send cards may do so; he is in room 104.

We enjoyed having all of you from Huston and Huntsville at our recent picnic. omitted, in my last letter, the nice family from Huntsville, relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Hefner.

They brought a delicious cake and were so much help in serving: load and it surely was appreciated.

Lodge President Rudy Hefner stated that the sight for our new SPJST lodge building will be resurveyed. I understand an additional 3 acres adjoining the 2 acres donated for the new building will be purchased. Roads will have to be built and a sign will soon go up for publicity purposes so anyone who travels Highway 19 can see the progress.

This forthcoming meeting is important, all of you do try and attend.

Also, don't forget your membership dues; you won't regret spending that little amount of $5. I understand it is only for the first; year. If all goes well, your membership dues will be less next year.

There are plans for August 19 and 20 at Davy Crockett Memorial Park, to setup the restaurant type booth again.

Additional space next to the restaurant will be available, so we can sell items and donate it to the youth club.

We also may sell popcorn because it seems to be a favorite item among the youngsters, in fact most folks like fresh popcorn.

AUSTIN CZECH AQUA FEST "FAMILY FUN FESTIVAL A highlight of the annual Austin Aqua Festival is Czech Fest. Night, this year the forerunner of other fest nights.

This event will take place in the

beautiful Fiesta Gardens, Town Lake, east of Interregional Highway No. 35, Friday, August 4, from 6 p. m. to 12:30 a. m.

The distinct cuisine, of delicious Czechoslovakian foods is still popular in this country, especially among the many descendants. Therefore, the principal food served throughout the evening will be home cooked Czech dinners prepared by the Czech societies.

The popular Czech sausage "boats' will again be available. The sausage will be cooked on the grounds.

Czech pastry will be featured, including the famous fruit-filled "korosettos, "buchty" (coffee cake), and hometa.ked bread.

Nick A. Morris, President Supreme Lodge, SPJST Temple, Texas ,Tuly 17, 1972 D:ar Members: This is .a report on the recent sale of the old SPJST Building. The building. was sold on June 30, 1972, to a Waco. businessman. This transaction brought to a close several years of efforts directed toward this end. The purchaser, Mr. Harry Cordero made a proposal in our Supreme Lodge meeting of May 24, 1972. The minimum sale price was Set by the entire Supreme Lodge at that meeting but negotiations continued until we reached a final agreement with the purchaser on June 30, 1972.

The old building was first purchased by the Society on March 27, 1953. It was used as our home office until our move to our new building in January of 1971.

Our efforts to sell the old building 'began back in 1969, even before we had broken ground for the new office.

Since that time, it has been listed with numerous real estate agencies, both locally and out of town. It was auctioned by Nelson International on Novamber 23, 1971 at which time the high bid of $55,060 was rejected. It has been well advertised locally and nationwide.

It was listed exclusively for one year with the Lading area agency and at the time of sale was listed openly.

'Thus, there was no commission on this sale and the details were handled here with the counsel of our attorney.

The building was sold for $62,500.

Since the building was carried on our books for $77,500, we showed a book loss of $15,000 on the transaction due mainly to the fact that the building had not been depreciated properly in the early years. In spite of showing a book loss, the Supreme Lodge body feels that we got a good price and that the

VESTNIIC building was overvalued on our kooks. 'his is based On our knowledge of the condition of the building, as well as our interviews of many interested parties and the advice of qualified individuals dealing in real estate of this type.

The old building in its present state, is in naed of many major repairs.

Profitable continued operation would have required vast expenditures for repairs and remodeling. The Supreme Lodge body felt it unwise to make such expenditures since the insurance laws would not permit our continued operalion of the building. For these reasons 'we feel that our Society obtained a realistic and fair price.

Dear Members and Readers: You are to arrive at Camp Val Verde between 9:30 and 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 5th. Then we plan to leave (camp at about 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8th, so you can figure out at what time you will arrive at home.

A church service is being planned for 7:30 Sunday morning.

Items to bring to camp are: sheets, a pillow and a light cover, swim suit, towels and wash cloths, toilet articles such as soap and grooming needs, flashlight, long pants and socks and shoes (a must if you plan to ride horses), hat or cap for hiking and archery. A change of clothes for each clay, suntan lotion or bug repellent; if you wish. Bring comfortable shoes (2 pair) if desired) because you will walk and play quite a bit. Bring your tennis racquet if you wish to play tennis. The tennis balls will be furnished by the district. There will be a record player, so if you have some favorite dance records, please bring them.

If you desire, you will be permitted. to purchase a couple of soda pops daily, in addition to the refreshments served by the camp. Those drinks will be 15c each and you will need some money for these drinks. Also, a few small souvenirs will be available such as ,SPJST emblems to be ironed on.

Our schedule includes swimming, horseback riding, archery, crafts, some hiking, outdoor games of many varieties such as horse shoes, kick ball,

To the lodge from Lovelady, go on the south side of Waco and hit Hwy. 84 going toward Gatesville about 12 miles out of Waco you will see a sign saying Val Verde, exit and then follow instructions above. Stop at the flag pole for further instructions.

The leaders and chaperones had a meeting at Lodge 80 in Houston on Tuesday night, July 25th. We received our plans for camp and assigned the leaders and clubs what they were to do.

We had a good turnout. I would like to thank Lodge 80 for the use ot their h=ail and all cf yOu leaders and chaperones for attending. SYD, Mrs. Dorothy Massey, was also present at this meeting and we were glad she could be with us. She gave us a report on the staff that will help us with our camp.

We certainly hope that all of you who sent in your camp application will be able to attend camp and have a good time with the rest of us.

As a matter of thought, the, youth might eat too much candy and drink too many soda pops, but they still can bring money, if they wish to buy these items. We will have a drink and the homemade cookies for them for midmorning and afternoon refreshments.

Remember your name tags because they will be judged for first and ,second places, the same as they were last year.

We will have a full schedule at camp so let's all attend and have a big time.

DISTRICT V YOUTH DIRECTOR District V had their youth achievement day July 16th at Lodge 88 in Houston. We were served a lovely ham dinner with all the trimmings. We had a nice turnout but the adults could support their youth in the district a little better than they did. The district was invited to a free dance after YAD. Everyone there enjoyed the, music of Henry Tannenburger. We had quite a few entries in the crafts categories, but we need to improve on our talent entries. Our goal in the district is to have a larger YAD next year and a better one.

LODGE NO. 135, ENNIS Dear Readers, Lodge No. 135 has been very busy the last two weeks. On Sunday, July 9th we had a swimming party at the newly opened Sokol Swimming pool after our regular meeting. The following Thursday night, we had an Ecology Meeting after which the Sokol served us refreshments. Then Saturday,

July 22nd the Club went, as a group, to Six Fla gs over Texas: We met at the lodge at 8:30 and went to Six 7Iags in a caravan. We left the grounds at 7 to return home.

Monday, July 24th the Youth Club No. 135 hosted Youth Club No. 25 for a cam p meeting. We discussed what to take to Camp and planned our South of the Border Party. Mrs. Wilma Nersada, District Three Youth Director was our guest speaker. The youth plan-

LODGE NO. 30, TAITON Dear Members and Friends, Just a reminder that our lod ge meeting will be held en August 6th, at 2 p.m. It is a very important meeting; also the youth will hold their meeting, so conic all, especially the new members and see what we are doing. Seems we are having a vary busy summer.

The convention was very nice and the summer camp was enjoyed b y all, and then all the practices for YAD and all the craft that was made by the youth which was amazing. I am proud of our youth who won and will go to state; hops succeed. Of course, everyone can't be a winner but there will be next year. Now we are busy doing things for the coming year; too many to mention, but I am asking the youth jest to keep it up. Be sure and cr'ne and pay your dues.

On July 17th we had a cookout at the Temple Dragway. We had lots of fun and everyone enjoyed it. We also made plans to have a swimming party on July 26; that was also a great time for the youth members because everyone likes to swim.

Don't forget about the state TAD' which will be held August 20th. Be sure and attend and I would like to see more Holland adult lodge members attending. Do come out and support these youth members.

DOE NO. 30, HOLLAND Dear Readers, I would like to tell you, abogt some things we did in the month Of July. I would also like to remind our members of sonic upcoming events.

On July 17th, our club had a wiener roast at the Temple-Academy Dragstrip. We all roasted wieners, ate, and had a real good time.

On July 26th our (dub had a swim party. We went to a swimming pool in Temple. I had a lot of fun in the water and I know everyone did.

Dear Members, The District VII Youth Club held its YAD last Sunday, July 23rd. There were many members present and it 'seemed as if each one entered craft.

The tables were full of entries and it looked like the judges had a tough time choosing the winners. Even in the 'royalty contest we had a, run-off between Connie Hrncir and Susan Pavliska for queen.

The Youth Club of the Year of DisVII this year was awarded to Robstown. Lodges 56-79 — second, and Lodge 107 was third.

The pOints contest winners were also announced Sunday.

Door prizes were given. The day ended with everyone henpily carrying away their prizes.

16 LODGE NO. 153, LA SALLE Dear Members, On July 5th we held our regular meeting. The meeting was called to order on time by the president. The pledge of allegiance was led by Stephen Hlavaty, and David Drastata led us in the SPJST motto. Melany Drastata led the SPJST song and then she read the minutes. After the minutes were approved Melany gave the treasurer's report.

Our special guests Mr. and Mrs. Brdecka were then recognized. Mrs. Brdecka then talked to us about various subjects.

Camp, YAD, and our summer trip were the main topics of old business.

Everyone admitted that they had a great time at camp.

After the meeting was adjourned, refreshments were served.

Our next meeting will be held on August 7th at 2 p.m. I hope to see everyone then.

The birthday cake this month was baked by Rose Mary Sims.

After the meeting, a home-style supper was served with ice-cream.

LODGE NO. 66, WACO Dear Members and Friends, On Thursday, July 6, our youth club had an ice cream social at the Eugene ;Slovak residence. The homemade ice cream must have been delicious because all 6 flavors disappeared, even though it was a cool evening. There were approximately 30 youth and their parents attending.

Our youth club attended a ribboncutting ceremony at the Cen-Tex Zoo, July 13th, at 3:30 p.m. A $15,000 addition was donated by the Waco Junior League. The new area includes a sea lion pool, playground equipment, restrooms, asphalt walks and a Tapir exhibit. It was a nice sunny day when we came, but by the time we left, it was pouring rain. There were approximately 30 youths who attended our rainyday at the zoo.

This is the first time we went to YAD. We also had two first place winners and three second place winners.

Our youth leader, Mrs. Henrietta Vanek, had planned a swim party for Wednesday, July 19, which was also a success. We swam from 5:30 to 7:30, and we had a wiener roast during our swim break. We ate as much as we could, and we had a real fine time.

Dear Readers, On July 24th, at 4 p.m. our club held a special meeting. The meeting was called to order by President Marilyn Vincik. The pledge was lad by Stephen Blavaty, the motto by Don Hlavaty, and the prayer was led by Melany Drastata. The adults attending were Mrs. Drastata and Mrs. Hlavaty.

We discussed our trip to Astroworld on July 26, and decided to postpone the trip indefinitely because of circumstances beyond our control.

We are now planning to go skating and maybe go out to eat afterward.

We haven's set the( date for this activity yet. We are planning on setting the date at our next meeting which is August 7, at 2 p.m.; so you youth members start thinking.

We discussed YAD and sang "Happy Birthday" to Tammy Drastata and Marilyn Vincik and wished Mr. and Mrs. Hlavaty a happy anniversary.

The meeting was then adjourned and we had refreshments. We all helped clean up and then everyone went home.

When we went to camp on June 27, which was our first time, we had a lot of things to do such as swimming, hiking, and all sorts of crafts. At night we had court, and after court, we had refreshments. The juniors went to bed early and the seniors stayed up.

Old business was about our summer trip to Astroworld. Due to conflicting activities the club members decided to postpone the trip to a later date.

Dear Readers, Our regular monthly meeting was held on July 9th, at 2:30 p.m. President -SPJST--Gaylon Dulock called the meeting to order.

Secretary Denise Banik read the minutes of the previous meeting. These were approved as read. Treasurer Mark Wood gave us a fine substantial report.

Under old business, Mrs. Banik told us how many persons went to Six Flags.

There were 24 youth members and 5 adult chaperones.

Mrs. Schiller was a) member of the Nelsonville Brethren Church for 50 years, the Bellville Barracks Auxiliary, and a member of Nelsonville SPJST Lodge C8 for 48 years.

A love to be cherished, a life they would share. This was the young and tender dream of John and Agnes, 68 years ago. Our mother was all love, perfect in every way, loved by all who knew her for the enjoyment and meaning she gave to each day. She gave freely of her love expecting nothing in return.

Our precious mother was the one who attended our every care. Her nine children knew the love she shared.

She worked so very hard and gave to each one a perfect love beyond compare. Her devotion was felt by her membership she shared. She was an auxiliary member of the :Legion of Mary, a member of the KJZT and SPJST. Her 90 years were so short but so beautifully spent. Now the Angelic call brings their love together, again and we must embrace their joy with our tears. May she rest eternal peace, and her memory live among us forever.
