FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK SL President N. A. Morris sent us the speeches he delivered at Lodge No. 88, on Czech Day. They are under the Supreme Lodge heading in the respective sections of the Vestnik. • • Annual lodge meeting — in some lodges the members held their annual meeting and elected their officers for, the new year, and elected their cielegate(s) for the forthcoming convention. In those lodges that have not held their annual meeting at this writing, it is the duty of each and every member that he or she attend this annual meeting. In your annual meeting your officers give their annual reports and it is imperative that you hear them. In some instances these reports will be favorable, in others, perhaps unsatisfactory, however, good or bad, you should hear them. Reward the active and efficient officers by re-electing them for another term and increase their compensation, if any; replace inactive or inefficient officers with new ones. To hold office in a fraternal lodge is a great honor and privilege, and is indicative of the high esteem in which such officer is held by his fellow members. In the United States we have several million people holding membership in various fraternal societies, and the number of members is constantly in-

Not only because of the low rates they pay and the safe insurance they carry in these societies, but also because they want to help spread the principle of brotherly love for which these organizations have been founded and stand for. In vain, will be all efforts of powers and worldpowers to secure for the world a last-
ing peace, until the people throughout the world have recognized and accepted the principle that all men are born with equal rights, a principle believed in by all fraternal societies. Their aim will not be achieved without that realization. Thus, whoever is active in his lodge is not only working for the benefit of his Society but also for the well-being of all humanity. Let us go to our annual lodge meeting as true brothers and sisters. Let us endeavor to elect able and efficient officers, for the coming year, men and women who will be worthy of our trust and confidence and who will willingly give their time for the benefit of the lodge and for the wellbeing of all the people of the world. This year our annual lodge meetings are even more important because the delegates to our XXI convention, to be held in Houston in 19'72, will be elected. The selection of these delegates from our individual lodges is VERY IMPORTANT, because the convention, held every four years, is where by-laws for our Society's next four years are passed. Therefore, it is very important that delegates who are aware of that phase of our Society's actions are chosen by the membership to represent them. True, it has been said that some delegates only go "for the ride, and do not really know nor care what goes on, and yet, nearly every place we have had a convention
