It is time once again to honor the head of the household — Dad! He plays many roles in our lives. Provider, counselor, and pal! We look to him or leadershipi, encouragement, and foresight! He can mend a broken heart or a toy wagon. Regardless of what happens, he is always there,

ready to protect and care for us. On Father's Day we present him with a thoughtful gift and a little extra pampering, but in the hearts Of all of his family, not only on this day, but each and every day in the year will always be "Father's Day" . . . remembered with love and affection.

And there is something about fatherhood that is bigger than we realize, The very word "father" is unique. In no language spoken anywhere in the world is there anything like it. Fatherhood of any kind is therefore a summons to the best that is within man.

Wedne9day, June 16, it vine. Our reverence for George Washington is summed up in the saying that he was "the Father of His Country," and the great ecclesiastical title 'Tope" means father. Clergy are known as "fathers of their flocks." Genius, too, is described as fatherhood, We say that Chaucer is the Jather of poetry, that Bacon is the 1.;D:i 1:* of science, that Gibbon is the fai [kr of history.

It must be a great, word that adds luster to such greatness. len a father, ,rAiled, especiallyin temperament, he is the best person to help a son succeed. When lie made a mistake, he, can give just the hint that will enable a son to avoid the error, and he can give the hint 4 in time.

Above all, it. is a father who, can most surely enable a son to believe in him, self, to fight the good fight with all his m ight, for a good father is what a son means by worthwhile manhood.

Live up to it, father, and your son will never cease to celebrate your day.

He learns that it doesn't do any harm to smile and say "Good Morning," even if it is raining.

He learns that most of the other fellows are as ambitious as he is, that they have brains, too, and that hard work and not cleverness is the secret of success.

He learns to sympathize with the youngster coming into the business, because he remembers how bewildered he was when he first started out.

He learns not to worry when he loses an order because experience has shown ,that if he always gives his best his average will break pretty well He learns that the gang is not any harder to get along with in one place, than another, and that "getting along" depends about 98 percent on himself.

• • A three-day bear hunt in the mountains some years ago left a friend of mine a bit limp. He, concluded that he had walked up and down every mountain and met everything but a bear in those three days. Once an encounter with a man looking for a piece of timber did more for him than the hunt.

He said that he asked him about the wood he was looking for and where he expected to find it. "On top of the mountain," he replied, "where all the storms hit the hardest. The tree that has withstood the storm, and has no other trees around to shield it, is the timber that I need. Of necessity, it has built up great strength from the gales. I need the toughest kind of wood to repair my wagon."

The strength born of storms and sufferings does something similar to a human being. Never discount the advantage or benefit of having passed through a storm'?

Newsbriefs Leshikar-Shiller Reunion The annual Leshikar-Shiller Reunion will be held Sunday, June 27, 1971, at the American Legion Hall in Bellville, Texas. Coffee, tea, and soft drinks will be furnished. All relatives are invited to attend and share in this get-together.

VPSTNIK Shiller and Hejl Reunion The annual Shiner and Hejl reunion will be held at the SPJST Hall, Buckhalts Lodge No. 15, Sunday, June 27, 1971. There will be a family-style lunch served. Each fainily is to bring enough food for themselves and their guests.

Mrs. Lillian Beasley, Secretary-Treasurer • • Klaus-Turek Wedding Miss Karen Yvonne Klaus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred D. Klaus of Hutto, became the bride of Jerry James Turek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Turek of Thrall, Saturday afternoon, May 29, in Taylor Brethren Church. A reception was held at the American Legion Hall. The bride, a graduate of Hutto High School, is employed by the Texas Dept. of Public Safety. The groom is a graduate of 'Thrall High School and is employed by IBM. They will reside at 9807 Kendal Drive, after a trip to Carlsbad, N.M. Brother Jerry and his mother and father all are members of Lodge No. 48, Beyersville.

• • Sister Annie Hanus notified us that Brother Emil Hanus was in Providence Hospital for surgery on June 1 and was able to return to his home on June 7. She reported he is doing just fine and is OK, but has to take it easy for a while: Best wishes.

Brother and Sister Charlie Bartosh of Penelope paid the office a pleasant visit, recently. * * Brother EMU Horelica of Houston surprised us with a visit at the office while vacationing in the West area.

He is the faithful correspondent far Lodge 88, Houston, and fulfills his duties as vice president. He is also a terrific insurance salesman! We truly enjoyed everyone's visit and we enjoy having visitors.

Features CERVENKA - KALINA RECITE VOWS MAY 29, 1971 Miss Diane Loretta Cervenka, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Cervenka of El Campo and Larry Julius Kalina, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius KaUna, Jr., of Wharton were married Saturday, May 29, at 2 p.m. in the Wharton Church of Christ. George Fare, minister of Wharton Church of Christ performed the double ring ceremony.

The soloist, Leon Locke of Hungerford sang "Because," "I Love You Truly" and "More."

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a formal gown of white peau de soie with an empire waistline, trimmed with embroidered Alencoft lace appliques trimmed the bodice front, sides and skirt, border appliques were around the bottom of the skirt, puffed sleeves bands. Her veil of white silk illusion was topped with white lace flowers and pearl beads. Tiny covered buttons were used on the cuffs and back opening of the bridal gown. The chapel length train was trimmed with border lace and was attached above the waist in back with a bow. She carried a cascade bouquet of white carnations centered with an orchid.

Miss Patricia Viktorin, a close friend of the bride was the maid of hcnor.

Bridesmaids were Susan Cervenka, sister of the bride; Geraldine and Patsy Kalina, sisters of the groom; and Norma Lutringer and Janet Cerny, cousins of the bride. Junior bridesmaids were Lisa Lutringer, cousin of the bride and Tammy Duyka, a friend of the bride.

Flower girl was Elizabeth Kutaeh, cousin of the groom.

The attendants wore long formals made of sparkle Chiffon over taffeta with velvet bows around the waist and their headpieces were of velvet bows, with matching shoes. They carried yellow long stemmed mums trimmed with greenery and yellow and green satin streamers. The sister of the bride and the three sisters of the groom were dressed in chartreuse and the other attendants were dressed in canary yellow.

Dennis Cervenka served as best man.

Wednesday, June 16, 1971 Mrs. Pamela McKee of Austin, cousin of the bride registered the guests. Sandra Kalina and Cindy Clanton served the bride's cake and Barbara Cervenka served the groom's cake. The bride's table was set with a lace cloth over yellow, centered with the beautiful Cored cake with the bride and groom figurines between the last, two layers a.nd topped with a layer full - of yellow roses -cascading all over. The groom's table was set with a lace cloth over green , centered with a large rectangular Gellnan chocolate cake with chocolate icing and a large Brahman bull in the center with white frosting with the groom's brand on the hip. fig,th cakes 7 were truly beautiful.

N3 The wedding supper was served at 5 o'clock and consisted of barbecued beef, chicken and sausage with all the trimmings, .Refrestiments were served to all before the meal.

Some of the bridesmaids and groomsmen passed the bride's shoe to help with their honeymoon trip, Then the bride and grooM opened their many lcvely gifts with the assistants of the bridesmaids and groomsmen with Patsy Kalina registering the gifts.

The bride's going away attire was a navy and white plaid gored skirt and sleeveless jacket with a navy overblouse with short sleeves, white shoes and a corsage of white orchid, The couple went on a short trip to Houston and then to Huntsville, where Diane registered for summer school at Sam Houston State University.

Diane graduated from El Campo High School, attended two years at Wharton Junior College and one year at Sam Houston State University, where she will be majoring in Elementary Education.

Larry graduated from East Bernard High School, attended Wharton Junior College for one and half years and Texas ALCM University for one and half years. He is majoring in Animal Science. This summer Larry will help his father on the farm.

Diane's father is a member of the El Campo SPJST lodge and Larry and the rest, of the family are members of the SPJST No. 58, Hungerford. Larry was very active in the youth club and his mother is the youth leader. His three s isters are very active members and Geraldine has been the district queen, and Patsy is presently serving as state queen. BROTEER AND SISTER EMIL MACHU WED 50 YEARS — Mr. and Mrs. Emil Machu, of Austin, were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary, Sunday, May 23, with an open house from 2 to 6 p.m. at their home, 6006 Cameron Road. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Hawkins and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Griggs, children of the couple, invited friends and relatives to attend. The Machus have lived in AuStin for 28 years. They were blessed with three children, two daughters and a son. Their son passed away in 1960.

They have eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. (Brother and Sister Machu are 50 and 45 year members : of Lodge Komensky No. 20, Granger. —Editor).

LETTERS LODOE, NO, 88, HOUSTON Dear Brothers and Sisters, In one respect we all seem to be rather safety minded in that we remind one another to be careful whether driving, . going fishing, hunting, swimming, etc., but yet, when it comes to regarding our very own safety in more serious or dangerous situations we seem to drop our own guard and get careless. Mest of you have at one time or another heard the remark, "Run for Your Life." Even the animals seem to heed this good slogan, more so than the humans. When something does not seem right an animal will take out and run and maybe from a safe distance turn and look at what the excitement was all about. On the other hand a lot of humans will, instead, crowd as close to an exciting or dangerous spot as they can and all or the sake of curiosity. Sigh was the

case of an explosion of a dynamiteladen truck near Huntsville, Alabama.

The truck collided with an automobile and caught on fire. The trunk driver, who was not hurt, ran up and down the road warning people of an explosion, some moved to safety; others had to see from close range. Momentarily there was an explosion of 20,000 pounds of dynamite, which left a huge crater in the ground and everything was swept away from the area including people. There were five people killed instantly, about 35 were in-‘ jured, and some may not recover; others may be crippled for life. Some probably perished by doing rescue work, but others were just curious.

I have seen too many of these instances in fire department work, and they still have the same problem today. When a fire occurs in a commercial building, warehouse, or manu facturing plant, there is always a danger of an explosion, flash back, deadly fumes being releasod, or highly chars-

ed electric lines falling. In cases such as these, people crowd around, sometimes actually keeping firemen from doing their best job by having to move people back over their protests.

Lately, the problem is even worse, but at our lodge we have at least one 'real safety-minded member. He is even .scared to bump a stump with a lawn mower. On our last clean-up day, we cut the remaining two stumps in our park and I was really proud of the results, but somehow we missed two stumps by the by-oo, in no-no territory, beyond forbidden ravine (the chow line was forming). The mystery is how did eagle-eye Minnie and Carl L. find out that the stumps are there? However, rest at peace; bp, the time you read this letter, the 'stumps shall be no more, and the lawn mower can operate in complete safety.

Coming events at Lodge 88 — Wednesday, June 16, local YAD contest; Saturday, June 19, dance to the music of Herbert Kloesel and his Knights of Dixie of Schuledburg,-, Sunday, June 20, a reminder to the mamas, ,daughters and sons (Fathers Day); Saturday, June 26, we have a good old oomph-pa dance to the lively music of Joe Patek and his Shinerites; Sunday, June 2"l again a big day at Lodge 88. First, Mikes' special braised beef dinner beginning at 11:30, kid rides and swimming, topped off by a big western bate tle dance starts at 2 pan. and dance to the music of San Antonio's Pearl Wranglers (Adolph Hofner) and Ray Krenek of Wallis. Don't rule all the polkas out; just come out and enjoy yourselves, and on Sunday, July 4, don't forget to rememiber that we head for Brother Joe, Skrabanek's Lone Pine Ranch at Danbury for an allday old-fashioned District V picnic.

There will be fun for everyone.

News and comments — The Ray Jurecka dance was a jolly affair, enjoyed by many; some celebrated different occasions. Mr. and Mrs. Karl :Hasselbrock, their 24th wedding anniversary; Sister Tillie Helmcamp, her birthday, and she was surprised by her friends with a large cake, which she served to all well-wishers and her group at their tables. It disappeared to the last bite. Louise Jacobs also celebrated her birthday. Peggy and Bob Pryor were visitors at the L. A. Mikes table. From Longview, we had Bill Cravens and son Gary. Gary is 12 years old and is our member. He sure enjoyed the swimming pool, while his father, Bill, and grandfather, Herman Baethe, and also uncle, Johnny Mikolas enjoyed the coolness of our air-conditioned building. The whole Craven family: Bill, Gladys, Deborah, and Gary of Longview, and Regina Muesse of Needville spent the Memorial 'weekend with the Herman Baethes and other relatives in Houston. Donnie Cox, son of Harley and Viola Cox, and a student at Waltrip Senior High School made a sculpture, which was chosen from a large, display in the Houston Post Spring Art Festival and was displayed at the Museum of Fine Arts during the month of May (Congratulations, Donnie!

—Ed.). Only the pride in his accomplishment preventing Donnie from selling his sculpture for a very good margin of profit. Frank, Louise and Hubert Knapick visited in New Orleans with Louise's sister. They, of course, took in the sights, ate a lot of crawfish and saw some shows. Frank didn't get to play any French dominoes but I bet he sneaked off to a few of those French peep holes.

Those of you who have been missing out on our social nights on Thursdays, and the good meals, take notice.

Chairman Lee and Glean Doer, Jack and Lois Glower, Orland and Era Richards, Mrs. C. J. Doer and Greg Glower can really cook and serve some of the most delicious spaghetti and hamburgers! Sister Mary Fusig is right there to serve the good kolache,, and they are a good team! Debbie Krolczyk daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Krolczyk and a student at Sam Houston Senior High School was accepted into the National Honor Society. She is a Houstonette and all are members of Lodge 88: Joseph Bily, son of Miro and Alice Bily and a student at Reagan Senior High School was also accepted into the National Honor Society, besides being elected cheerleader for the fall semester and also voted vice president of the Student Council. We are proud of these students and so are their parents.

The Swinging Strings dance, was enjoyed by many of the cowboys and cowgirls. A couple of requests by unknown parties were "Welcome to My World," evidently they liked it. The other one was, "Help Me Make It Through the Night," I hope they made it. The flying man wasn't there that

night, so we didn't hear the request for "If I Were a Bird."

There was a beautiful wedding ,solemnized in the Saint Benedict Church, June 2 at 7 p.m. Kathy Bradford and Bobby Bryant were united in marriage by Rev. Metranga. Kathy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Bradford. She wore a long white lace gown complimented by a train and matching accessories. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. B. Bryant of Huntsville, Alabama. The maid of honor and bridesmaids wore long gowns in pastel blue. The reception was held in the bride's home at 4919 McRidge'. Various refreshments and music were the order of the evening.

Next day the bride and groom departed to Alabama on their honeymoon and also for the bride to get acquainted with the groom's family. Kathy is a member of Lodge 88. We wish them much happiness.

The Czech lessons which started two weeks ago seem to be quite popular.

The second attendance was twice as large as the first. Vaclav Chmelinsky of Prague University and Karel Sicner are the instructors. The classes are now divided into beginners' and advanced groups. There is no charge for these lessons except paper and pen.

It is my understanding that there Will be, or is by now, a concession open in the serving section of the barbecue pit to make it more convenient for the swimming, beachconabing and park roamers (summer only).

The annual Splash Day at Lodge 88 was a success all the way around. The weather was good and so was the Mikes' special berbecue,d beef. Besides swimming, there were kiddie rides and moon walk. Many folks just enjoyed the shady park and watched the swimmers. Some were babysitting for the younger set. Others played the Country Store wheel operated by Willie Wehring and the youngsters. Some browsed around the bazaar counters which were operated jointly by the Birthday Club sisters and the organizers. Mary Tilich of the Birthday Club and Evelyn Mikeska from the organizers took charge of these departments and with their help did very nicely. Sister Willie Mae Wood contributed substantially by donating a crocheted necklace and then selling tickets on it.

WecIdekTay, Tune 16', 107f our meeting. Birdie Hilsher and Mrs. Karl Sicnex operated a snow cone stand in the rear area and seemed to be doing good business. Annie Vala certainly had a good group of helpers in the kitchen throughout the day.

Itasca Cerny somehow got stuck in the pastry department, however, all did not desert her and she kept on having fun. After eating a piece of that delicious pie for dessert, what else can I do but name all the donors of pastries, sugar, and coffee. They are: Bessie. The big battle dance got under way at 2 pan., and lasted until 9 p.m. The Vrazels and Lee Roy Matocha g ave a good account of themselves and the air-conditioned ballroom was fairly well filled with happy dancers. Visitors were Mrs. Fred Burris, sister of Georgia Lee, and her son Tommy, from Texas City. Georgia's daughter-in-law and her two sisters, Tania and Dana, were also in on the fun. Frank and Mildred Kucera and son, Chris, of Memphis, Tennessee, wexe visiting with her parents, Emil and Annie Vala, and also took in Splash Day. I did not hear of any new illnesses and hope the others are getting well.

Don't forget the, singing rehearsals every Tuesday from 8 to 9 p.m., and the Czech lessons every Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read by Sister Beyer and accepted. Our financial secretary, Brother Tumis gave a good report.

New members who were accepted into our lodge were Janet Ann Beyer, and Diane Marie Beyer. We welcome them to Lodge 142.

On our sick list were: Sister Lorene Willett, Brother Robert Lindemann, and Brother Sidon Turin& Also Sister Anna Muenich is still in the St. Joseph Hospital in Houston. We are very glad to report that Brother Joe Cieslewitz is getting along nicely after his serious operation. We sure do miss him at our meetings. We wish all of you, a speedy recovery.

On Saturday, June 19, we will have a free-to-the-members barbecued-beef dinner. Each member must be present to receive his or her plate. There will not be any plates to go, so brothers and sisters, please try to be present.

Malek, Recording Secretary ---sed0r LODGE NO. 92, FORT WORTH Dear Members, It is about time to remind you of the regular meeting of Lodge No. 92, which will be held on the third Sunday — June 20 — in the National Hall at 2 p.m. In the Vestnik it was erroneously printed that there will be a meeting en June 13 and on June 20, too. I'm sorry this happened, but it is not my fault. The hall was rented for June 13 and we had to change the date of the meeting.

After the meeting, lunch will be served and the good sisters are a.iked to please bring some pastry; the remainder will be furnished by the lodge.

We had a good attendance at the last meeting and we had sonic visitors. We missed our secretary, Sister Christine Zich, who, with her husband, Brother Carl Zich, and daughter Shirley, were vacationing in Florida and visiting their other daughter Carol and her husband. Sister Mary Lynn Kri'vanek took Sister Zich's place for that meeting.

We had a good attendance at the meeting and the children presented a nice program to honor our mothers and fathers. President Brother Joe B. Paprskar presented the oldest father, Brother Will Strnad, and the youngest father, Brother Kenneth Krivane;k„ and the oldest mother, Sister Helen Zich, and the youngeSt mother, 'Sister Mary Ann Krivanek, with gifts and wished them well.

After the program we all enjoyed a. delicious supper.

Little Mary Cecilia, daughter of Brother and Sister Kenneth Krivanek, had an eye operation last month in 'St. Joseph's Hospital. The little darling is recuperating at 'their home now.

Our June meeting was a brief one, clue to the small number in attendance. A motion was passed to purchase a gas water heater for the lodge kitchen and two of our members volunteered to do the necessary plumbing.

Members also voted to contribute' $1.3.5 toward the furnishing of the SPJST Rest Home.

The next meeting and covered dish dinner will be on Sunday, July 11, because of the July 4th holiday weekend.

One of cur members has graciously volunteered to donate a keg for the enjoyment of all members who are present at this meeting. This might be an extra incentive to some of our summertime members. "Summertime you attend and summertime you don't."

Seriously, let's all attend the July meeting and bring a guest if you wish.

The 17th annual Filipp Family Reunion was held at the VFW Hall in Moulton, Texas, June 6, 1971, with exactly 200 people registering, including 12 guests.

People from the local area prepared the meal which consisted of barbecued chicken with all the trimmings. Outof-towners brought desserts.

Immediately after dinner the regular business meeting took place with the, president, A. R. "Preacher" Reeder of Danbury, presiding. It was voted to have the 1972 reunion in Danbury, 'Texas, with the following committee .serving: President — Eddie Filipp, Sr., (Danbury); Vice President Ben F. Reports DISTRICT I ORGANIZER'S REPORT

Dear Members, May was a very successful month for Dist. I, in fact, it was the best month we have had so far. We sold 26 members for the amount of $278,000 of insurance. The total for this year is as members, and $498,500 insurance. I am hoping that we can reach our quota before the sixth month is oft.

Number one on the list this tithe is Brother Willie' Gloyna and he also made a record for the SPJST. He sold the largest policy that ever was sold in our SPJST, which amounts to a quarter of a million ($250,000). Congratulations to you, Willie, for such nice work.

Next on the list was Suter Esther Zavodny and then was Brother Ver., non Jurries. Congratulations to both of you. Sister Zavodny sold $6,000, and Brother Jurries sold $5,000. These two are new organizers and are getting off to a good start.

DISTRICT VII ORGANIZER'S REPORT

During May, a total of $20,000 of insurance was sold in District VII. The top organizer in the district was L. F. Pustejovsky of Lodge 93, with $10,000.

For the past five months a total of $119,500 has been sold. This is only 28 percent of our quota. At this time we should have $207,000 sold to be enroute to reaching our quota. Let's go out and sell a couple of extra plans and we will be in good shape.

They put on a program for Mother's Day and also performed at the Ada Wilson Crippled Children's Hospital on the 6th of June and on the 9th of June they performed at the. State Hospital for the Mentally Retarded here in Corpus Christi. They were well received at all their performances.

I also want to compliment the youth club of Lodge 117 for the nice party and dance they held on May 28. They invited the youth clubs from 107 and 56-79. A nice crowd showed up and a nice time was had by all.

Also, I know the youth of 107 are busy selling tickets. Is this right Polly? (Sorry I lost your address when I sent the letter).

So all in all, the youth clubs are busy and I know they are looking forward to YAD on July 25, sponsored

by Lodge 117 and being held at the American Legion in Corpus Christi — so all you youth clubbers, start getting ready for July 25.

I would also like to thank SYD Janousek: and DYD Pa,vliska for coming to Corpus on May 5 for a training program of youth leaders and any other interesting persons.

From The Surely:1 May 19, 1971 't'itriple, Texas Dear Members: This report as directed by Article No. 36, Section F of our 11v-Laws, is taken from our MD Annual Statement.

The various items in this report are designated by exhibit numbers, exactly as found in the Annual Statement. This statement was filed with the State Commissioners of Insurance in February, 1970.

EXHIBIT I. This exhibit represents the increases and decreases of our assets on cash basis, as taken from the Annual Statement. It shows an increase of $999,828.25 for the year of 1970.

EXHIBIT II. 'Exhibit No. 2 is figured on accrual basis, as required by the State Board of Insurance. This exhibit itself takes a lot of time to complete due to the fact that every item has to be figured separately and all the interest is calculated to the end of the fiscal year. This item shows a net gain from operationr in the amount of $158,693.96.

EXHIBIT III. This exhibit shows the assets and liabilities combined° with the cash and accrual method, with the life certificate reserves figured by the Actuary. All the figures are first tested and refigured before they arc entered in the State Insurance Report. You will note that the $193,000 "Provision for Refunds" is added into liabilities, plus the $15,650.44 for premium refunds, due and unpaid to 12-31-70 — these two items increase our liabilities by $208,650.44.

EXHIBIT IV. This exhibit shows the increases and decreases in the mortgage loans, giving you a complete account by showing the number of farm and city loans and the amounts outstanding.

EXIIIBIT V. This exhibit explains the income from interest, dividends, rents, royalties, and Certificate of Deposits.

EXHIBIT VI. This exhibit is a complete breakdown of certificates issued during the year. We issued a total of 3,160 certificates for $8,059;363 of insurance.

We subtracted from this amount the following: 334 Death Claims. The death claims for 1970 were down to normal as compared to previous years, except year 1969, when our mortality ratio rose to a high of :03.04%; however, the 1970 ratio is back. to 45.03%.

107 Maturities. (This amount represents endowments paid-off, such as J. E., 15-year and 20-year, etc).

2,31 Expiry. (This consists mostly of J.T. policies that are converted to adult class and also expired extd term insurance).

260 Surrenders. (This consists of policies that withdrew, but have Reserves.

Where possible, we p ay off the member the full amount of reserves and cancel out the insurance risk).

747 Lapses. (This includes policies that withdrew or that were expelled, but did not have any reserves).

You will note that from the 3,160 certificates issued, we subtr- , ' 1.879 certificates (explained in the above paragraph) and this leaves us a of 1,481 certificates for $4;747,608 of insurance..

The progress chart follows and represents the progress of our Society from the year 1904 to 12-31-70.

This should prove very valuable in regard to information about our Society.

It gives you the exact statistic as to the full operation. It's a condensed report of income and expenses. Keep this copy of tile Vestnik, you may have an occasion where this report will be very helpful.

This valuation progress report is exactly as required by the State Insurance Commission.

This year we again discontinued the Dunnes Insurance report and replaced it with our own folder, "Presenting SPJST..' This folder and the Comparative Report folder are our way of advertising, and are mailed to Organizers. The information in the folders is taken from the Annual Statement and should be very helpful to our Organizers.

The juniors made plans to go swimming at the VA Pool on June 25 at 5 p. m. till 7 p, in., and you should be at the VA Pool, but don't go in unless you pay your admission for yourself.

After swimming, we are going to the Jackson Park for homemade ice cream.

If you are going to camp, you need a blank card to fill out. We are going to camp on August 6, 7, and 8.

The door prize was won by Jody Zavodny. Then the meeting was adjourned.

After the meeting we had our talent contest. We didn't have very many contestants, but it still went on. Debbie Baca won first place and received $3. Kim Mikulas won second place and received $2. Gary Pavlica won first place and received $3. Frankie Klinkovsky, Jr., won first place and received $3, also.

I would like to thank Mr. Frankie Klinkovsky for the fantastic job he did while being our youth leader. We will miss him a lot.

Bro. Holub was the oldest male resident in Baylor County.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a. in. Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. David Redmond OMI officiating, with interment in the Bomarton Catholic Cemetery.

Brother Holub was born Jan. 17, 1873, in Fayette County, Texas, Bro. Holub moved to Baylor County in 1907.

He married Josephine 'Baca on Oct. 29th, 1895, in Schulenburg, Texas. She died in 1965.

Survivors include four sons Ed, Emil and Julius all of Seymour and Louis of Rineland, Texas. A daughter, Mrs. Martha. Cernosek of Graham, 13 grandchildren .acrd 38 greategrandchildren.
