FAMILY BOND BROKEN — F. K. Bucek's death broke the longtime bond between him and his three sons. L to R: George, "Papa" Bucek, Julius, and Erwin. The sons are prominent Hallettsville businessmen. This picture was taken in 1961, when "Papa" Bucek was 84 years young, on the occasion of the elder Bucek being in business 40 years. All are members•of Lodge No. 4, Hallettsville, Erwin having served several years as lodge president. F. K. BUCEK DIES — END OF AN ERA Frank K. Bucek, 93, retired. Hallettsville businessman and civic leader here for many years, died at 2:50 p. m. Friday, April 30th, in Renger Memorial Hospital, Inc. He was not only known as "papa" to this family, but he was called "Papa Bucek" by manymany people throughout Hallettsville.
Mr. Bucek was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish of Hallettsville, the SPJST, the Sons of Hermann, and the Woodmen of the World. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, three brothers and one grandson. The body remained at the Kubena Funeral Home here until 2 p. m. when
it was taken to Sacred Heart Church where it lay in state until 3 13. m. services, Sunday, May 2nd. The Rev. Terrance Nolan officiated at the last rites, offering a Requiem High Mass at the church; Rev. Stanley Petru conducted the graveside rites, assisted by Msgr. A. J. Morkovsky.
