FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK Your last reminder — Be sure and attend the tax workshop on the Tax Reform Act of 1969 Law by IRS, which will be held in Temple on Saturday, April 17, 1971, from 1 to 3 p.m. It will be held in the Community Room on the second floor of the Texas Bank and Trust Building, across the street from the Supreme Lodge Hdos., on North 1st and 3rd Streets. Please read SL President Nick A. Morris' letter on "Important Tax Information," which you will find in this issue. Be sure that your lodge officer (s) or any interested member is present at this workshop. This is your last reminder! Your editor will attempt to be present at this workshop, if time and conditions permit.

other dedication of a new lodge, Lodge No. 175, in District V and the SPJST. Then she introduced SL Vice-President Joe B. Hejny. Brother Hejny congratulated and initiated the local lodge officers and members of the new lodge into our Society. He, also expressed ,greetings to the membership of Lodge 175 in behalf of the other Supreme Lodge officers, who could not be present due to previous commitments. Then the local lodge officers were recognized who are as follows: President — Charles Janke; Vice-President — Leonard Steglich; Secretary — Johnnye Howell; Fin. Secy. and Treas. — Patricia Parma; Reporter Frank Parma, and Youth Leader — Gloria Janke. Brother Hejny introduced. SL Financial Secretary Ben Zabcik, who presented the Charter, signed by 105 members, to President Charles Janke. Next on the agenda, District V Director Ernest Hanka presented the lodge's emblem to President Janke, and expressed his congratulations. Yours truly was also introduced , and expressed a few words of encouragement. The other sister lodge presidents were introduced from their respective lodges: Charlie Matcek (81), Tillie Helmcamp (88), and Gordon Hrabal (172). Among the other district guests present were: Sisters Stacie Hejny and Regina Zabcik; DO District 1, E. R. and Sister Jakubik (9),

tended a warm and hearty welcome to everyone. The festivities started promptly at 11 a.m., and the dedication convened at 1:30 p.m. The ceremony was broadcast live over Radio Station HERD, Rosenberg. There was the presentation of colors by Charles Paris and the pledge of allegiance, led by Brother Stephen Janke. Mistress of Ceremonies DO Evelyn Mikeska was introduced by radio announcer. Do not overlook your district meeting in your respective district, because Districts I, II, and III will have their meetings on April 18. In this issue you will find who the host lodge will be for the district meeting, and an outlined program. Remember there will be two more district meetings in most of uur districts before the 1072 convention, so it is essential that you attend your district meeting and voice your opinions. 9 Another lodge joins our fraternal circle.
