FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK Sunday, February '7 we attended the Lodge No. 6, Cottonwood, meeting Which was efficiently conducted by lodge president Johnnie Krizan. The lodge members passed some decisions which show a definite step forward to building a better future for the lodge. EL President Morris installed the officers — a photo of them appears in this issue. We enjoyed the meeting. Sunday, February 14 we attended the 70th anniversary celebration of Lodge Nave Kvety No. 35, Elk. Mail from. Temple, which should have arrived Saturday, definitely, did not arrive until Sunday and the material had to be in that issue, so your editor and one typesetter had to work Sunday pm. and we could to triony ag take _rt. the lkeXt,

erwaril. Sometime semi we \till out long enough to 'Len cur readers about the experiences of our past wnile participating in stage productions, both Czech and EngliSh. Often, the actors enjoy the play as much as the audience, or more, however for other reasons. It is always what happens backstage and, even on the stage sometimes. Today, we will mention only two. In one case, the prompter told
I HAVE FOUND TODAY I've shut the door on yesterday, Its sorrows and mistakes; I've locked within its gloomy walls Past failures and heartaches And now I throw the key away To seek another room, ,And furnish it with hope and smiles And every springtime bloom. No thought shall enter this abode That has a hint of pain, And worry, malice and distrust Shall never therein reign. I've shut the door on Yesterday And thrown the key away — Tomorrow holds no doubt for me, Since 1 have found today, —Author Unknown the a t- Tier line and the elderly atiress spoke ii in the dialogue, however; the prompt?i: did not hear her cud repeated i;be line atetit -three more Limes, whereupon the actress, in consternation, looked down at the prompter, leaned forward and said: "I've already said that!" This brought 'the house down. Or an actress (a maid) goes off the scene, and is supposed to return immediately, but she forgets, thinking she is through, and starts to change for the next scene. On stage yours truly and another actor adlibbed: "Where is she?" "Oh, she'll be right back," to take up time. Backstage,
someone whispered to her, "Get back on stage, they're waiting for you.' The lady, remembering that indeed she was supposed to be on stage, rushed out onto the stage with her dress around her waist, petticoat showing, and finished pulling her skirt down on scene. The audience nearly split their sides. Why the above lines? Remember that the operetta "Muziky, Muziky" is being repeated Sunday, February 28. You will not regret seeing it. An ad is in this issue. You can follow it even if you do not understand Czech. • • Congratulations to Sister Helen Hegwood on her Number 1 position- in the state in insurance and sales. Her friendly, ready smile and knowledge seem to be good assek to her.
