FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK

We will just continue our tour of the SPJST. Let us start where we ended in the last issue. While at Rest Home No. 1, in Taylor, we visited with some of the guests and, understandably, very shortly. Brother Schefcak was glad that so many people donated furnishings for so many rooms. We, (Terry and I) visited with mother and grandmother Theresa Sefcik very briefly, too much so, and then went to Lodge Praha No. 29 in Taylor for their 70th Anniversary Celebration. They had a delicious dinner and the program started at 2 p.m. The Lodge No. 84 Choral Group from Dallas sang, and then had to board the bus for the return trip to Dallas. President of the Supreme Lodge SPJST Nick A. Morris had the, principal address of the day, followed by a very nice memorial program presented by Lodge 29 and, especially, with a touching fraternal atmosphere, by Supreme Lodge Secretary, Raymond A. Urbanovsky. Next, the president of Lodge No. 29, Andrew Marek, standing behind seven candles, (three of each were lit by two very nice young members, Sis. Diane Walker and Bro. Ronnie Rieger,

The Seaton and Taylor choral groups sang very beautifully, and the little dancers of Lodge No. 29, under the guidance of Sister8 Ba.rtiosh and Kubala really held the audience's attention. Of course, after the program everyone enjoyed the dance. October 19 — away to Robstown, to the District VII meeting! The meeting started on time, however, it was very lightly' attended. All of the district business was conducted in the forenoon, and just before the meeting was recessed for the noon meal, Bro. Charles Holasek, a past director of our SPJST Society for 20 years, a past president of the SVPS Mutual Fire Insurance Association and a life-long and devout Sokol presented a $1,000 check from the estate of his late spouse. Sister Betty Holasek, to Bro. Eugene Hrncir, District VII Rest Home Director, to be used to benefit our aged. Somehow, in some way, I would like to ask: If that is not fraternalism, what is? Bro. Kostelnik carried the meeting along correctly, and it was finished by noon. About noon, the people started arriving for some tasty
