FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK October 12, a Sunday, rolled around and so did the dedication of the fourth and hospital wing of our S.P.J.S.T. Rest Home No. I in Taylor, and, on the same afternoon, the 70th anniversary of Lodge Praha No. 29 in Taylor. We arrived there at 10 a.m. and in 30 minutes the program was under way. Bro. Paul Sablatura of Louise, vicepresident of our Rest Home Board of Directors was master of ceremonies. He introduced Taylor Mayor Dr. J. G. Kubala, who welcomed the audience both in English and Czech. He introduced Supreme Lodge President Bro. Morris who had the principal address, then all of his fellow directors, Supreme Lodge officers and directors. He presented Sister Antoinette Pokorny of Lodge 29, who welcomed all with a speech in Czech, and, although she is still a teenager, she handled the language well; then Sister Denise Bartosh of Lodge 29 spoke in English and delivered a sincere welcome to all of us. Probably the best attention was given to Sister Anna Pokladnik, a guest of the Rest Home, when she spoke to the gathering, in Czech, and thanked the past and present administrators and all of the caretakers of the Rest Home for the fraternal, benevolent and sincere care they bestowed upon the guests.. ONE MORE PRECIOUS DAY I wake u p this morning so gay, The sun shining bright in the sky. I knew this was my lucky day. Stay with me and I'll tell you why. My heart is so light and carefree And .gay as a bird's lilting song. I am wearing a smile. You can see Right here in your arms I belong. This morning I realized I need you To make my whole being complete Your comforts and joys I will see to; But my love nothing e'er will defeat. Your face I hold dear to my heart. It's a picture I will not forget; And, my Darling, if ever we part, This love I will never regret. My heart I give you to cherish. Keep it bright and always so true. If your love for me ever should perish, Remember, I'll always love you. The birds at my window are singing. My Darling, let them show the way. They will send your happy heart winging So give thanks for one more precious day.

1956 Temple convention, I could not help but notice a few of the life-long hard-working elderly members wipe a little tear from their cheeks. The Dallas Lodge 84 Choral Group sang beautifully, both prior and after the pro-

gram. A "thanks" to them! Then Bro. J. M. Skrabanek cut the ribbon at the door of the fourth wing and handed Bro. Gaida the key to it and the ceremonies were ended. More about this and other meetings, etc., later, since this week we are crowded for space. • • Young Americans born in the postWorld War II "baby boom" are now coming of age, beginning their careers and starting new families. Nearly 3.8 million young people reached age 21 last year — by far the largest number in history and almost 1 million higher than, the previous year. Today's young adults are having a deep impact on the nation. By bringing to their jobs more education and training than any previous generation, they promise to raise the performance and productivity levels of American workers as a whole. As a result, they will almost certainly achieve a higher living standard for themselves, their families and the entire nation. Both as producers and as consumers, they will clearly be a major factor in American business for decades to come. In the life insurance business, for instance, the family responsibilities of younger married men present probably the greatest need for life insurance protection. Of all the "ordinary" life
