FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK CONVENTION NOTES
THOUGHTS...
As we head toward the finish line in respect to the coming convention, things are beginning to roll. In this week's issue, we have the first of many reports that will be appearing in the Vestnik from now until June. The first report is that of the Publication Committee, which appears in both Czech and English. Some of these will appear only in English. Next week, we will endeavor to bring you the complete report of our by-law committee. The committee has requested that we try to put all of their report in one issue, so that delegates will have a handy reference work under one cover. That means that their report will have priority next week, and other items may have to wait a week. These are certainly issues that delegates will want to keep.
When we complain that times have changed, what we really should say is that we have grown older. • • Many men who wouldn't think of committing larceny will cheerfully steal a busy man"s time. • • Next to doing a good job yourself, the greatest joy is in having someone else do a first-class job under your direction.

Very good! And some of the young actors and actresses would qualify to do summer stock in anybody's theater company. Being Objective. To travel means more than just going places. It is
people. It is 'meeting people — coming face to face with other human beings whose whole way of life contrasts with our own. It is being pulled up short by the sudden realization that there is just an off chance that we just may not be right about everything. It is being shaken aut of our complacency and apathy and being compelled to take a second look at some of the prejudices and attitudes that we have developed over the years and behind which we take shelter so comfortably. • • Quality. Only the man who has the imagination to look ahead a few years is interested in quality. Nine times out of ten the man who protects his family against untimely distress by buying life insurance and by building, up a savings account will also be a purchaser of quality goods. When he buys an overcoat he has in mind that there will be a cold spell each year of his life between November and March He doesn't expect any peculiar twist of fortune to take him to a tropical country next winter, and he is quite sure the seasons will arrive on scheduled time. Believing this, he wants a good coat because he expects to wear it several years, and he sees that a good coat will
