We will be celebrating Mother's Day this year on Sunday, May 8th. This is a day that should be filled to overflowing with love and affection for our dear mothers.

Those of us who are still fortunate to have our mothers, let us set this Sunday aside as HER day. Spend at least a part of the day with her if at all possible. You may not have many more opportunities to be with her and especially on Mother's Day. She will appreciate more than any gift, the fact that she has seen you. For those of you who cannot be with her in person, remember that your mother will appreciate a letter, a telegram or the joy of hearing your voice. Everything that we are, have been, or hope to be we owe to our mother and all she asks in return is that we be good and honorable citizens. Small repayment, indeed.

Do not overlook this opportunity to honor your mother.

We should never fail to commemorate Mother's Day. This celebration orginated in the United States and soon became a day of commemoration throughout the entire civilized world.

This most beautiful holiday falls on the second Sunday in May. It is dedicated to those who gave us life. Everyone who has feeling in his heart remembers and honors his mother. It was she who brought smiles, love and sacrifice to her children; even if these disappointed her repeatedly. With pride in her eyes and a prayer on her lips she followed their every little step.

For every fault and failing of theirs she had an excuse. In every act she saw something good, even when the act wounded her loving heart. She hopefully looked to improvement and reformation. On many a sleepless night she pressed her head into the pillow so that her weeping at disappointments would not awaken her dear ones. Yet she continued to hope and love.

• • Mother's Day was established so that all of us might realize the full meaning and significance of motherhood and give it the love, respect and reverence which it deserves. It was intended to bring to mothers the joy and gratitude which rightfully belongs to them. For ages they have endured suffering and sorrow, in order to promote and preserve life, and save liberty and the language they learned to speak.

gratitude. The deeds and lives of children manifest the love they have for their mother. If children are in a place distant from the home of their parents, they should be urged to write to their mother. If they have lost their mother through death, they should decorate the mother's grave with flowers. If they are blessed with a mother who is still living, they should present her with flowers and gifts to show their gratitude. They should visit her and show their appreciation and love.

Let's make the second Sunday in May a real holiday for our mothers.

The way to appeal to a customer's p ocketbook is to take sides with him, rather than against him. Appreciate that he has many outlets for his money and that he is anxious to make his money reach all the way around. Help him see the advantages to him of buying your product.

But don't let yourself think of any sum of money as unimportant.

The Resilient Spirit The beautiful and picturesque lone pine trees we so often see pictured on the top of mountains are known as Limber Pines. They are given this name because their flexibility and reiliency permits them to ride out the winds and storms that destroy other trees.

You can take a branch of a Limber Pine and tie it into a knot — its flexibility makes this easy to do. Untie the knot and the branch will assume its original shape.

The lesson taught by the Limber Pine is that survival and success is not dependent upon strength alone. They achieve victory by bending with the wind but always springing erect after the storm is over.

Triumphant living, too, is achieved by resiliency. The storms and strife of life may bend and buffet us around but if we have a resilent spirit they cannot break us. The supreme test of character and strength is determined by the manner in which we courageously straighten our heads after having been bowed by defeat, disappointment, pain and suffering. People of this spirit will be found leading the less courageous — they are the ones who will achieve the mountain tops.

The Bargain Many salesmen are taught to avoid the phrase "the price is only so much."

Offhand you might think the remark would flatter the customer. It implies that he is used to dealing in big sums and that the matter of a few pennies is of concern only to his housekeeper or gardener, not to himself.

But the wary customer grows nervous. For a quarter you can buy a magazine of over 200 pages. For only a nickel customers will abandon one grocery store and buy their bread from another store. For only a small saving, people will buy out-of-season and

Mrs. Lydia Alholm and sons Tony and Roy, Jr., are joining Mr. Alhohn in St. Louis this summer. Tony has been accepted as a student at Notre Dame University, and Roy has applied for admission into St. Louis University.

All are members of Lodge No. 92, Fort Worth. e Since the current rainy period the West area has had 13.03 inches of rain, as of noon last Sunday. This is a lot of moisture, but this area has been fortunate in that all of it arrived without strong winds or storm damage.

Out of 32 lodges in District I, seven were represented at the District I spring meeting. It was good to see the nice number from Lodge No. 1, Fayetteville.

Frank Faraizl, 84, passed away on April 2nd in an Ennis hospital, after a prolonged illness. Brother Faraizl was a member of SPJST Lodge No. 25.

Miss Mary Urban of San Francisco, California, visited with her five brothers and two sisters, plus other relatives in the Dallas area, over the Easter holidays. A member of the Kaufman SPJST Lodge No. 110, Sister Urban follows all SPJST Texas activities in the Vestnik. She returned to California on April 25th via American Airlines Astrojet.

• Mrs. Ann Zvolanek, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Patak, and Miss Georgia Tupy from Montebello, California, paid us a nice visit at the print shop last Tuesday, on their way to Temple.

• • Mrs. Mary Janek of West is seriously ill in Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.

Sister Janek is a member of SPJST Lodge No. 167, Penelope.

• Aloisie Zak, 71, passed away in Taylor on April 17th. Burial was in the Taylor City Cemetery. Sister Zak was a member of SPJST Lodge No. 29, Taylor.

J. F. Vasek, 57, passed away in Wharton on April 18th. Burial was in the Hungerford Catholic Cemetery, Brother Vasek was a member of SPJST Lodge No. 58, Hungerford.

Vine Fojtik, 80, passed away in East Bernard on April 18th. Burial was in the National Cemetery in East Bernard. Brother Fojtik was a member of SPJST Lodge No. 28, East Bernard.

• Corrections It was erroneously stated in this column last week that the late Adolph E. Bohacik of East Bernard was a member of the SPJST. Also, the age of the late Brother David E. Davidson of Granger was given as being 20. It should have been 50.

A nice delegation of members from Lodge No. 35, Elk, (District III) attended the spring District I meeting at Snook on April 24th. A nice group also came from Lodge No. 47 and 87, Seaton and Temple, District II.

Ma. 1,ND rims. ANTON ANTON TIP.KS OBSERVE GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Anton Tirk of Grapevine, Texas, will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Wednesday, May 11th, with their children and families.

Brother Anton Tirk was born in Poland (under Russian rule) on June 9, 1892, but his parents came from Zatec, Czechoslovakia. In 1913, he left Poland and sailed to the United States. Having heard that he had friends in Texas, he proceeded to Fort Worth.

One of his first jobs was working for the Wort Worth Wagon Co. as a blacksmith. He worked for this company about two years, then went to work for the Ford Motor Co. in Fort Worth as a motor mechanic, but was transferred to the Dallas Ford Plant in 1917.

In 1919 he returned to Fort Worth and worked for 12 years as a motor mechanic for Bubb Diggs, one of the city's first and largest automobile dealers.

In 1954 Brother Tirk retired after 22 years as Tarrant County garage foreman in Precinct 3, having served under six county commissioners.

Brother Tirk became a member of the Fort Worth Sokol in 1914. He held the office of president of the Fort Worth Sokol for 12 years. He was also president of the Slavonic Mutual Fire Insurance Association, Chapter No. 9, for six years. He has already received his 50-year pin for membership in the

SPJST Ledge No. $2.

Sister Frances (Gajda) Tirk was born on June 1, 1900 in Kunovice, Czechoslovakia. She came to the United States and Texas with her parents in 1912. She also holds membership in the Fort Worth ,eakol and SPJST Lodge No. 92.

Brother and Sister Tirk were married in Fort Worth on May 11, 1916.

They moved to their presen: address near Grapevine in 1925 and. maintained a truck farm and operated a dairy. The Tirks have been active in agricultural programs since moving to the country.

Brother and Sister Tirk had four children. The eldest, Lt. Col. Anthony Tirk, Jr., served with the 12th Air Force, and was killed in action in 1944.

Mrs. Lydia Alholm, next oldest, and Joe Tirk, the youngest, live next door to their parents. Mrs. Frances Matthews lives in Fort Worth. Each of the children attended college and are graduated. The daughters teach school in the Fort Worth Public Schools, and son, Joe, is a supervisor at Texas Instruments in Dallas. Brother and Sister Tirk have five grandchildren.

Brother and Sister Tirk have kept active in social and political affairs since his retirement. In 1960 they took an extensive tour of Czechoslovakia, visiting relatives, their families, famous spas, and historical sites. They are proud of their heritage and say they are fortunate to be living in this great, democratic nation.

JOANNA KAY SLAVIK Joanna Kay Slavik, member of SPJST Lodge No. 88, Houston, has been chosen as a recepient of a Brackenridge Scholarship by the trustees of the George W. Brackenridge Foundation in San Antonio. Joanna is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe A. Slavik of San Antonio, graduated from Judson Rural High School, and plans to enter the University of Texas this fall, where she will major in education.

(Joanna is the granddaughter of Bro. Joe Slavik, long-time RVOS Supreme Lodge Secretary. Joanna holds membership in Lodge 88 since her family lived in Houston before moving to San Antonio. — Editor).

Our president, Lad Zatopek, wishes to thank each and everyone for the cooperation, work and effort they have put out on the project of purchasing land, especially the building committee, which really has worked very hard on this and put in a lot of time.

Our work has just begun, and it will take the full cooperation of everyone.

Fraternally, Eva Reporter S7JSTHouston, Texas Dear Readers and Friends, It is our sad task to inform you that God has seen fit to call from our midst our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mrs. Hermina Sustain. She passed away in Houston Methodist Hospital at 5:45 p.m., April 20th, after a prolonged illness. She was buried April 22nd beside her husband in Hillje, Texas, who preceded her in death some 30 years ago. She was 86.

Eight daughters, four sons, 18 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren survive, plus a large number of immediate relatives, all of whom are 100 per cent SPJST members. She, however, did not belong.

Six grandsons acted as pallbearers, and three great-grandsons acted as altar boys in the sanctuary of the church.

Sustala came to America in 1911 from Czechoslovakia. with her father and six children. Later, six children were born in America. When they lived in Hillje some 30 years ago, her father was gored and killed by a bull. Mrs.

Wednesday, May 4, 1966 Sustala had lived in Houston the past 25 years.

Surviving children are: Mrs. Mary Johnson, Mrs. Helen Pesek, Mrs. Tony Marek, Mrs. Louise Bilek, Mrs. Betty Bravenec, Mrs. Annie Grissom, Mrs. Agnes Michulka, and Mrs. Elizabeth Coufal; sons Edward, Bob, Pete, and Adolph.

The Requiem Mass was celebrated in St. Theresa Catholic Church in Houston, with burial in Hillje.

Oh, how we miss our dear mother!

It doesn't seem possible that she is no longer with us, although she expressed a desire to die those last few years of failing health.

We wish to express our sincere thanks to all those who attended the funeral, of whom there were many, and to the donors of flowers. Our thanks also to Houston Mayor Mr. Louie Welch, who attended the funeral along with several other city officials, all of whom gave flowers.

Wednesday, May 4, 1966 LODGE NO. 88, HOUSTON Dear Friends, Congratulations to Youth Leader Wanda Elzner and assistants and the youth on their Princess Bali. There were eighteen contestants, and I think it is wonderful how much money they made for the swimming pool! I was really surprised that more people didn't come, as I feel our youth leaders and our fine girls and boys deserved better support than that. The music was wonderful, the ceremony with the pretty girls and handsome boys in formal attire was beautiful, and those of you who did not come really missed a lovely time! District Queen Bonnie Cox and past Princess Frances Wavra participated in the ceremony. Congratulations to new Princess Kathy Dixon and Prince Gary Zaludek, and new Duchess Kathy Sembera and Duke Joe Marshall!

I hope you didn't miss the wrestling match between Beulah the bear and Jay Wilkinson, our genial chairman of the Blue Room. The skit written by Louis Hanus was hilarious, as was his costume and the costumes of the pallbearers and the preacher! Harley Cox led the four pallbearers, Ernest Hanka, Herman Liebscher, Karl Lindemann and L. A. Mikes, who brought in the huge casket for the loser! "Preacher" Tim Kostom, who really looked like a preacher of the 1800's, was there to add to the comedy! Then Jay Wilwinson, with his trainer, Lindsey Mason, and Beulah with her trainer, compared their weights, and Referee Louis Hanus decided on the rules! Champion Wrestler Jay found out in hurry that Beulah meant business, and even the referee ended up wrestling! Judging by the laughter and applause, I think all enjoyed it!

I hope all of you are making plans to be at the spring district meeting at Rosenberg on may 15th, hosted by Lodge 81, Needville, There will be a good dinner served, and the youth will put on a program in the afternoon.

You have to hurry if you want a reservation for the Jan Garber semiformal dance on June 14th, because the reservations are going fast! This is a special dance that you just can't miss; it might be your one chance to dance to the wonderful music of the nationally-famous Jan Garber!

We have some mighty good orchestras scheduled for our May dances, and I do hope you won't miss any of them! We have Gil Baca of Houston this Saturday, and you know how good he is! Then on May 14th we have the

VbSTNfK incomparable Herbert Klesel and his Knights of Dixie of ,Sehulenburg, and on May 21st, we have the equally famous Blumes of La Grange. Then on May 28th we have the well-known Bay City Dutchmen of Corpus Christi, who play good polka and modern music!

So you see the very best orchestras play in our beautiful, air-conditioned Chandelier Ballroom!

NAME'S IN THE NEWS: Evelyn and Jehrinie Mikolas recently had their Silver Anniversary, and the Birthday Club Sisters surprised Evelyn at their club luncheon by presenting her with a "Money Tree" covered with 25 onedollar bills; congratulations and best wishes go to these faithful members!

District Organizer Frances Olexa, who is recuperating from a broken ankle, surely is missed at our lodge functions! The contestants at the princess Ball presented Youth Leader Wanda Elmer with an orchid corsage! President Louis Hanus is working hard on plans for the opening of the swimming pool on Lodge 88 Splash Day, Sunday, June 5th! Lorinda and Karl Lindemann had charge of the Jimmy Brosch dance! Diana Lindemann is helping with typing the cards for swimming pool use!

LODGE. NO. 84 CHORAL CROUP, DALLAS Dear Friends, On Wednesday, A pril 20th, His Eminence Cardinal Josef Reran, exiled primate of Czechoslovakia presided at a Mass conducted in Czech at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Dallas. Assisting in the services were His Excellency, Dishon Thomas K. Gorman of the Dallas-Fort Werth Diocese, Right Reverend Msgr. Charles M. Smid of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Garland, who was in charge of arrangements for the Cardinal's visit, and many other church notables and dignitaries.

Cardinal Beran, a victim of Nazi brutality for many years and later under house arrest by the Czech communist government who last year was exiled from his native Czechoslovakia by them, is making a tour of the United States and one of the stops on his itinerary was Dallas.

The combined 50-voice Czech Choir of KJT-KJZT-SPJST Lodge Pokrok Dallas 84 Choral Group, under the didection of KJT-KJZT Choir Director Bob Liska, and SPJST1 Lodge No. 84 Choir Director Frank J. Henzen, sang for the exiled primate's mass.

The fairly large attendance was very touched by the warm words Of Cardinal Beran. Later his sermon was translated into English. The Czech Choir sang "Kde Domov Mu j ?" the Czech National Anthem, at the reces-

Barbecued beef and sausage, with all the trimmings will be served at $1.25 per plate for adults, and 65 cents for children. Pastries and drinks will be sold throughout the day.

Wednesday, May 4, 1966 The meeting reconvenes at 2 p.m. followed by the election of district officers, and the presentations of emblems to the 53-year members. We hope as many as possible of the 50-year members from our district will be able to attend; however, the number that will come depends a great deal on the other members. Some may be unable to attend unless someone brings them to this meeting , so please contact any member you know who is to be awarded an emblem and make sure he or she can be present. They will certainly appreciate it. Incidentally, the district premises a free dinner to each 50-year member who attends.

Following the afternoon session, the youth of our district plan to present a talent program, and there should be some good entertainment. Mr. Anton Dvorak of Needville, a descendant of the great Czech composer, Antonin Dvorak, will furnish music during the noon hour and after the program. He will be accompanied by his daughter, Mrs. Elsie Jan, and her son, who are also both very talented musically.

We would like to have a lar ge number of lodges from ouor district represented on this day. A special invitation is extended to the Supreme Lodge officers and their families, and also members and friends from all the districts. Flan to be with us on May 15.

Dear Members and Friends: Bro. Nick IVIorris called a meeting for the Patriotism Day plans on Thursday night, April 21st, which was Roman's 65th birthday. Roman decided to bring a small keg of beer and asked the members to come to the meeting and then help chink the beer.

What we didn't know was that the ladies decided to bring sandwiches and snacks and Bro. and Sis. Bennie Engelke had a beautifully decorated cake with white icing and yellow roses, with Roman's name and "65" written on it. Bro. and Pis. Josef Janecka brought a gingerbread heart pastry all decorated. Bro. and Sis. Otto Mattis and Grandma Kapavik and Bill each brought a gift and Sister Dorothy Moore handed Roman a card with a substantial amount of money donated by the members. Before the eating and drinking began we all sang "Happy Birthday" to Roman. He was so surprised and pleased and said he never would forget his 65th birthday and ex-

League play started on Thursday night, April 21, and we won a close game by the score of 4 to 3 over Johnson Chevrolet. It took the boys 9 innings to get this win and all turned in a good performance.

Lionel Schulz, our pitcher, turned in a fine early-season game, as he hurled the full 9 innings, allowing 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 14 batters.

Lawrence Honza was his battery mate and turned in a fine game behind the plate.

Leading hitters were Dalton Reed, with a homerun; Leonard Drozd with a double and a single; Lawrence Honza, with a single and a walk, Richard Quick, with a single and a sacrifice; Albin Vrana, with a single and a walk; Wes Jaska, with a single and a sacrifice; Ted Dasek, with a single, Bob Spoor, with a single and Lionel Schulz, with a base on balls.

This was a fine way to start off the season. It appears that we again have a lot cf talent and our team should give a good account of itself this season.

The next game was scheduled for Thursday night, April 28. (Probably was rained out). Then the following Thursday night, May 5, we play Texas Engineers, at 8:30 at Samuel Diamond No. 3. If you can, come out to the games and lend your encouragement and support to our team.

We have about the same members as last year, plus a few new boys, on the team. YOUTH SECTION UNCORRECTED MINUTES OF THE DISTRICT AND STATE YOUTH DIRECTORS' MEETING, MAR. 12, 1960 (Continued from last week) The question was brought up whether a queen could run again if she won on the district level but not in the state. Mrs. Matejka made the motion that in talent, king and queen contests, the youth could continue to run and win on the district level until they had won the state title. After this they could not compete in the contest in which they had won the state title. Seconded by Mrs. Pavliska and carried.

Discussion of trophies was brought up by Mrs. Brdecka. As proposed and approved in the December meeting the district would pay the state office for the trophies, ordered by the state office. The first place trophies for the senior king, queen, talent and crafts are to be large. Small trophies will be given for younger talent and crafts.

Five dollars was set as the limit per large trophy. Mrs. Pavliska made the motion, seconded by Mrs. Helmcamp and carried.

In the king and queen contests the speech is to be extemporaneous and impromptu (no prepared speech) on the district level and a prepared speech on the state level. Duke and duchess do no speaking whatsoever, and they automatically go with either the king or the queen. The master of ceremonies awards the prizes and awards at the district contest. District Youth Director selects her own master of ceremonies.

The district camp was discussed and it was brought out by Brother Janousek that the district must go as one group. The point system may be used in elimination if necessary and the district youth director should use her own judgment in the elimination. In the September meeting the youth directors will determine the minimum number of points necessary for every junior in the state to go. The youth didector and local youth leaders are reimbursed for the trip the same as the youtk attending.

Starting June 1, 1966 the name Youth Activity Day will be changed to Youth Achievement Day as proposed

by Brother Janousek. Mrs. Helmcamp made the proposal into a motion, seconded by Mrs. Mraz and carried.

IltSTNfK Camp rulings announced by Brother Janousek were as follows: 1. Only active SPJST members may attend with District Youth Director.

2. Youth must go as 'an entire district group.

3. Place selection determined by the district youth director. The place must provide equal activity for all people going.

4. Everything else concerning decisions will be left up to district youth director and she should consult with the district officers of the camping 5. Following the event a detailed report should be sent to the District president, District Director, State Youth Director, and Vestnik. An itemized statement is to be sent to the Vice-President of the Supreme Lodge.

The by-laws for the Junior Division of SPJST were discussed and covered by the youth director and the following changes and additions were made: Under Supervisory Structure, there will be the following additions: 1. If the Lodge fails to elect or loses a youth leader, the district youth director may intercede until a youth leader can be secured, but not to exceed three months.

2. If the district fails to elect or loses a district youth director, the state youth director may intercede in matters needing immediate attention until the next district meeting, or until a new district youth director can be secured.

3. The district youth director has the authority over the district meeting youth program. All lodges must have equal opportunity to be represented.

The district youth director can determine an equal limit of acts or time per lodge.

These additions were put into the form of a motion by Mrs. Helmcamp, seconded by Mrs. Pavliska and carried.

On page 6 of the by-laws, under Duties, Reporter, etc., this addition was made: "Reports to Vestnik and Youth News (Communicator) on each event or at least one letter per month."

With no other additions or changes in the proposed by-laws for the youth clubs, Mrs. Mraz made the motion that they be accepted as corrected, seconded by Mrs. Matejka. Brother Janousek asked for any questions about the by-laws, stressing their importance and questioning if everyone was satisfied with the rules they were proposing to approve, since these rules would govern all the youth equally all over

9 the state. Motion carried without further discussion.

At the close of the meeting there was wholehearted approval by the District Youth Directors that State Youth Director James Janousek was doing an excellent job and was being a terrific help to the state. Mrs. Helmcamp made a motion to this effect; seconded by Mrs. Matejka, and carried.

The meeting was adjourned at 3 p.m. until the last Saturday in September (Sept. 24, 1966) at 9:30 p.m.

In spite of the heavy rains that day, Mrs. Ernest Kristinik, Mrs. Adolphie Macha, and Evelyn Macha of Lodge 157 Lubbock, Mrs. Otto Ptacek, Lodge 77, Bornarton, and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Pavliska of Lodge 73, Seymour, attended the meeting.

The youth leaders reported that much needed information was gained by having this seminar. The rules and contests were all read and thoroughly discussed. There was not time enough for the by-laws, so another meeting will be held later, which will be announced in the Vestnik. Be watching for our next seminar in District IV. We are working now on season passes for our swimming pool and I hope everyone will take advantage of it. Swimming is very good for the young and old alike.

Dear Members, Another month has slipped by!

Summer is just about with us and that means a lot of outdoor work and other activities.

We had over three inches of rain this past weekend. The farmers ,•e getting a little rest since it's too wet to work in the fields.

We are proud of the youth club.

They are all working hard. We'd like to see more members join the club. We are planning a Mother's and Father's Day program in June. We will have the District Youth Activity Day in July, and also the youth camping trip in July. While the girls are nervous but anxious, the boys seem to be dreading the ordeal. Although several of them can't wait for it to be aver, deep inside they are just as nervous and anxious as the girls are to hear the resulte.

On the evening of April 24th, five contestants for Princess, and their escorts, and four contestants for Duchess, and their escorts, will walk out on the dance floor. To them and to the crowd, it is unknown who will win. As the speaker gets up, a short speech is oiven, and then the winners are announced. A title is won!

In next week's issue, the Prince and Princess, and the Duke and Duchess will be announced.

Our past teen dance, Mr. Abner Dixon, Mr. Joe Elzner, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gill, Mr. and Mrs. King Hegwood, Mr. Larry Moody, and Mr. L. D. Rollins helped to sell tickets, and serve refreshments.

The "Mama's Boys," once the "Vibrations," played to a crowd of 530 teens, surpassing their last attendance by over 100 teens.

I mentioned the members of the band in one of my past reports, but due to the fact that several members are no longer with the group, and several new members have been added, I would like to again mention the members of this band. They are: Brient Hicks, vocals, David Haynes, rhythm guitar, Yankee Phillips on drums, Stan Sherwood on bass guitar, and Alvin Webb on lead guitar.

This band put on a wonderful performance, and we hope to have them back soon.

For our next teen dance, the "Surf Knights," be playing. This dance will be held April 29th. The -Surf Knights" have played at cur lodge hefore, and have proven their ability to play songs the teens like to dance to.

On the 29th, we hope to break their past attendance record.

After April, the teen dances will be held every other Friday. During the summer we hope to hold these dances every Friday, but right now it is undecided as to whether or not we can.

Admission for these dances is 75c, unless otherwise notified, and the time is from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

All proceeds go toward the completion of our swimming pool.

Our Gift Star Project is still in progress. We still need Gift Stars! All donations are welcomed. These Gift Stars can either be given to Mrs. Wanda, Elzner, or yours truly. Frances Miller gave a report on the graduation party. She said that there were about 100 teenagers present at the party. Each one enjoyed the party very much. She thanked everyone wily helped in any way.

Mrs. Parma said we would discuss the Princess Ball at our next mother ledge meeting.

Jean Spence said that we should attend the Youth Activity Day. She said the girls 15-21 years old may enter the queen contest. Boys 15-21 may enter the king contest. Girls 7-12 years may enter the duchess contest. Boys 7-12 may enter the duke contest. So get your speeches ready!

Jean Spence said that we would have a paper drive coming up soon.

We decided that we would play baseball and volleyball. We got our bats and balls down and played.

The meeting adjourned. Afterwards we had a meal.

Dear Members, This is my first letter to the Vestnik. My name is Denise Banik. I am 7 years old and in the second grade at Et. Mary's School in West.

Our last meeting was held April 17, 1966. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Cynthia, Denise, and Charlotte Banik. We had our youth club meeting after supper. We did not discuss too much because of the heavy rain. One thing we discussed was our moneymaking project of selling cakes and kolaches on Saturday, April 9. Our secretary said it really put some money in the bank.

We will have our next meting on May 1st, after the adult meeting.

Everyone also enjoyed a wiener roast, after which we had a fishing party.

Prizes were awarded the one with the most fish and the one with the largest. Joseph Bilski caught the most fish with a total of 44. Charles Majewski and Patricia Schmid caught the largest fish.

There were sixteen members and eight adults present, and a good time was enjoyed by all.

LODGE NO. 17, NEW TABOR Dear Fellow-Members, On Sunday, April 24, 1966, District I had its meeting at Snook. We of Lodge 17 presented three numbers. The first number was sung by Carol Trcalek, Babs Vavra, Patsy Skrabanek, Patty Zavcclny, Alvin Vavra, Theodore Dusek

Jr., and I, and was entitled "My Bonnie." Then Theodore Dusek Jr., played a French horn solo. The next number was delayed because of some laughter.

The children were painted black. Carol Trcalek, Babs Vavra, Patsy Skrabanek, Fatty Zavedny, Rebecca Matcek, Donna Trcale::, Susan Trcalek, Florence Vavra and Dicky Dusek sang the song entitled "Shortnin' Bread." They were accompanied at the piano by Betty Tr: alek.

The program was very interesting and we all had a very enjoyable afternoon.

The Teen Club, which is just organized, will meet for the first time April 30th, at 2:30 pun. We are hoping to have our State Youth Director out to help up get organized. So all of you above the age of 13 come out Saturday at 2:30.

The youth club will not have a meeting in May, so on June 5th at 1:30, I want all the members of the youth club to come out to the meeting.
