One of the great joys that your editor experiences in traveling to our various lodges and occurring at this time of the year, is the multitude of wildflowers, veritable seas of beauty, soon to be seen along some of Texas' highways. In just a week or so an annual wonderland of beauty will be blooming along our highways the length and breadth of our state.

Someone may dis pute this but one of the prettiest stretches of highway in this respect is the drive south from Milano toward Caldwell, and particularly between Caldwell and Somerville. The Texas Highway Department maintains more than 800,000 acres of rightelf-way along our 00,0100-mile state highway system. More than 500 varieties of flowers add to our motoring pleaisure during springtime. h`. you haven't taken to the highways on a lazy Sunday afternoon during spring, be sure and do so this year. This annual springtime "flower show" is really something to see, and every Texan should enjoy this dazzling display of Nature's handiwork. Watch for this color orgy during the next few weeks. standing cypress, sage, verbena, primrose, blue-edged grass, foxglove, and a number of the daisies species. Don't miss them this year. It is difficult to understand the driver or passenger who drives through the spring countryside and who remains oblivious to the beauty of Nature that abounds on all sides. It's all for free, tao. The new SPJST Family Plan of insurance protectain makes both the present and the future more secure for the entire family. Few fathers have all the life insurance they need; still fewer families have enough protection on the mother and children. Our SPJST Family Plan provides the entire family with protection. For new families, this means a firm foundation upon which to build a sound program ,cif farn'y security. For established families, it is an excellent way to strengthen existing protection. • • Briefly, here's how the plan works: Most of the protection is on the father. This is a whole life certificate which builds important cash and retirement values. (Double Indemnity and Waiver of Premiums may be added for a few extra pennies). If Payor waiver is added, and the father dies before age 65, all protection then in force on the rest of the family continues in force without any further payment of premiums, as defined in the Payor Rider.
