In the State YAD Royalty write-up on page 3 of our previous Vestnik the following was inadvertantly and unintentionally omitted. The Youth Department regrets this oversight. The following should have been imimmediately above the runners-up in the third column. Our Queen is Patsy Kalina, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Julius Kalina, Jr., of Wharton. Her duchess is Ramona 'Holmes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Holmes of H.ungerford. Our King is Teddy Dusek, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Dusek of Caldwell. His duke is Ronnie Schielack, son of Mr. and Mrs Vince Schielack, of CaldWell.

Sunda , October 11, we attended the official dedication of our S.P.J.S.T. Rest Home No. II in Needville. We enjoyed the day, as much as enjoying it was • possible. When we left West in the morning it was cloudy but dry. When we came to Cameron, it started raining and continued to get worse and worse all the way to Needville, and continued all day. It can be said that rain virtually came down in sheets. Very few and far between were the slight pauses or letups. All in all the day turned out much

There were softie 700 to 800 attending. We will not go into details about the program because Sister Kolaja had a very detailed write-up in this issue. We wish to state, however, that the organizers of the program, speeches and ceremony and the participants all are to be complimented and congratulated for a job well done and for braving the very bad, rainy weather to drive in it. It is dangerous to be on the highways at anytime, nowadays, and doubly so in weather like that. Here we wish to add that the directors of the homes would like to see them filled with SPJST members, of
course, however, they have to operate them on a first-come, first-serve basis. Our elderly members are therefore urged to apply as soon as possible, if they plan to reside at one of the homes. When the home is filled, applicants are placed on a waiting list. • Sunday, October 18 we attended the 30th Annual American Czech Day at the State Fair in Dallas. We enjoyed the day and especially the program very much and will write more about our visit there at a latex date. • • The government has become the agency of last resort in aiding people who are ill-prepared financially and emotionally for retirement, according to an official of the Department of Health, Education and Welfare. In the opinion of Clark Tibbitts, Staff Director of Training Grants of the HEW, the government should be called on only after the individual, the family, the church and business have failed to handle the problems of aging. Interested Participants. Mr. Tibbitt's views were expressed at a recent University of Chicago conference on the problems of retirement sponsored by the Institute of Life Insurance.
