FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK Sunday, September 27, the district meeting of District VI was held at Hallettsville and had an average attendance of youth and adults alike. The youth program waEi nice and well ac; cepted and the meeting short and orderly. Needness to say, the attendance could have been larger because the day was so nice, however, one has to remember that everyone has something to do. Sister Mary Mrnustik, president, carried the meeting forward with expediency, proving that our member9 of the fairer sex can be effecient and depended on also. A remark was made at the meeting that in the last eight or so years' we see many more of our female members present at all functions and that this enhances our meetingsi and the attendance also. This is true, for in so many cases the whole family as a group attends. This certainly keeps our fraternal lodge and family life in a more desirable level. If we can keep thi9 up, we are headed in a satisfactory direction. Also, this is a thought: At most of the district meetings a noon or evening meal is served and the housewife is spared the need to be in the kitchen. Attending a meeting like this, the family can eat 21.9 a unit or visit with other members while the youth do the same with youth of other families and lodges. It certainly is a way to strengthen our fraternal work and lodge life.

DON'T BE, BLUE, DEAR! Above me tonight is a sky of blue, And stars that remind me of a distant few; The air is filled with a fragrant dew. And my thoughts just naturally wander to you. I think of you in the days just past, And till next I see you time will be vast, O'er here that time won't pass too fast, And I dream of the day I'll be back at last. I love you, dear, I mean it, too, So, please, don't feel so awfully blue. The war will soon be done and through and I'll come back just to be with you. ARE YOU A CONVERSATION KILLER?
